“New but had its problems”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We paid £32 for a good sized double room. Room had a fridge, sofa, a/c, safe, seperate shower. Breakfast was included in price.

Located close to a KMT station and in a not yet finished mall. I see a fair few reviews comment on feeling a bit unsafe. The walk through it is not long. We felt ok.

There are a couple of cafe (old town White coffee, secret recipe) and a 7/11 already open nearby.

The hotel location suited us as we were having a lazy day. Other tourists may want to be closer to city centre.

Wifi was very good and computers were available for free use.

Negatives of hotel: despite being a new hotel our room stunk of cigarettes. Housekeeping knocked on our room at 9:15am- waking us up, despite the fact we were checking out that day (there are no 'do not disturb' signs.

Dear Victron23,

Thank you for choosing ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park and taking the time to tell about your experience with us.

I was pleased to read from your review that you enjoyed your stay and that you found our property to be strategic. Our main concern is for all our guests to have an exceptional stay.

I am however sorry that you were inconvenienced by the odour of smoke in your room. We do have to maintain a certain percentage of smoking rooms for our guests. We do have them on the higher floors and try to make sure that all rooms smell clean and fresh. I am sorry if your room smelled like smoke.

I would also like to apologize for any intrusions on your R&R and please know that these were in no way intentional by my staff.

Your feedback is incredibly important to us and we will definitely take your comments into consideration to improve our in-property experience.

Again, I apologize you went through any inconveniences and hope that you will consider staying with us next time you are in town.

Sincerely,
David Lane

This hotel is so new that most taxi drivers do not know where it is located. Nice room but do not provide slippers, note pad and pencil for writing a note. Breakfast was okay and adequate. To get to anywhere, you need to take a taxi or WALK to the nearest LRT (Chan Sow Lin) station. The sound of the train passing by could be heard from the room facing the rail tracks. The 4th floor where the breakfast is served 'looked empty' except for a few computers providing free internet access at one corner. Need some sofas on this floor. Maybe also some indoor plants to make it more cozy. Check-in was fast as was check out. Thanks to the FO supervisor, Peter, I obtain a very important map showing me my next destination after checking out. Good on ya Pete.

Dear drdpcm,

Thank you for choosing ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park and taking the time to tell us about your experience with us.

Regarding our location, the most significant landmark nearest to our Hotel is the old F&N building and you may want to mention this to the drivers. Also, our Front Office staffs are always contactable should you need assistance for direction.

Indeed, our hotel is strategically situated adjacent to Chan Sow Lin LRT station via an interlink bridge from the hotel; within 150 metre from the hotel. Therefore, it is convenient for guests/travellers to get around the town by public transport.

Next time when you are here, please request to upgrade your room for a better view and away from the train. I thank you for your suggestion to enhance the look of our Hotel and for your information, we are putting in few more furniture very soon and a discussion with our designer to improve the Hotel’s décor particularly on level 4 restaurant, is still on going.

I want you to know that the comments and suggestions we receive from our guests are taken seriously. Your willingness to share your recent experience is genuinely appreciated. Please be assured that the issues you have raised have been addressed, and the appropriate action has been taken.

I will certainly convey your kind words of praise to our Duty Manager, Mr Peter.

It was surely a pleasure for us to be at your service and we all look forward to welcoming you again soon to Ibis Styles KL.

Sincerely,
David Lane

We were impressed with this hotel. Very good sleep, their mattresses were amazing. The rooms are quite small, but well designed and very clean.
Breakfast was a good mix of east and west. The dinner menu at the restaurant is not good value at all, and there is better food within walking distance.

It's the first time we stay at Ibis Style Fraser Park and it meets our expectation. Room is clean and so the restroom is. There's several minimarkets & chinese restaurant nearby so no problems with our daily needs. Also we like the chinese foods there. We choose this hotel for the valueable price and its location is easy to go to shopping malls (our favorite destination)such as Bukit Bintang, Pavillion & Suria KLCC by lrt & monorail, which we can reach the Chan Sow Lin lrt by acrossing bridge through unopened mall next to the hotel. So it is a good choice and definitely going back to stay here again later.

Although the area where the hotel is situated is undergoing a slight slump the hotel itself was wonderful. Ok so it has only been open for 6 months but the staff, the food, the rooms were all brilliant. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendy, helpful and welcoming. When we went to the bar or restaurant every member of the staff, including Ricky the chef, who took the time to come and speak with us, were only interested in our welbeing and comfort. The hotel was only a 3 minute walk to the station and a 10 minute trip to the centre of KL. I will certainly be staying there again. Even the taxi ride to the airport was entertaining if a little exciting. 10 out of 10 for every aspect of this friendly, comfortable, inexpensive and well run hotel.

Dear westfalenstoffe,

Given the very nature of the hotel business, the hours are long and demanding. Day or night, the service depends upon people willing to give their very best at all times. That’s why it’s truly rewarding when a guest recognises our staff’s efforts, and takes the time to write and share their experience with us.

It was certainly our pleasure to have you as our guest and I am most delighted to learn that you have thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you again for choosing ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park and for sharing your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back and serving your future lodging needs.

I will definitely convey your kind words of praise to our Head Chef, Mr. Ricky.

I stay in this hotel for 2 nights at mid April. The hotel was very new and the location is not in the city center but you can get to the center very easy using the LRT train (2 stops). The location of the hotel is at residential area and no attraction nearby the hotel. If you are coming to this hotel using public transportation such as KL monorail, then you should stop at Hang Tuah station then change to LRT (Light Rail Train) heading to Ampang/Sri Petaling. You need to stop at Chan Sow Lin Station and walk through the sky bridge into One Metro Mall (newly built mall but no shops are opened until this moment). Once you have reach the mall, go down to ground floor using the escalator (please note that this mall is absolutely empty) then turn right and walk straight as the entrance of hotel is about 50 meter walk. The lobby is bright and clean with chic decoration. Check in is efficient and the room is clean and bright too but the corridor is not attractive at all. The rooms are spacious with big windows, the bathroom was tiny with standing shower. The glass wall at the bathroom made this uncomfortable for those who are not couples as you can see the shadow of somebody while having shower. This hotel provides free WIFI and the strength is very good but you need to get the password from the reception. Now, the nightmare comes while you are going for breakfast. The breakfast area is at 4th floor. This hotel caters a lot of group tourists from mainland China. While I was staying at this hotel there are 6 big groups of Chinese tourist staying there and having the breakfast at the same room and same time. You hardly can find anything left at the breakfast counter and you won't be able to find any seat and clean tables. I just don't understand how the management handle this situation. Most of the hotels in the world provide separate dining area for group tourist, but this hotel mix it together and the walk in guest just sit down and facing the empty breakfast plates. Two morning without breakfast seems to be unacceptable and complaints have been made but without any solutions. Nearby the hotel you can find some local food and convenience shops (7 Eleven), but as breakfast was included in the room rate, then it is again unacceptable.

Room Tip: If you like nice view, then you can choose the mountain view which cost you much more than usual, bu...

I would like to apologise profusely about your meal experience with us.All groups are meant to be seated in the extended restaurant area / bar adjacent to the main restaurant area. We apologise that during that period we were not able to effectively manage our operations.

At ibis Styles, we strive to provide all our guests with warm and great hospitality throughout their stay with us, therefore your feedback is very vital to us for greater enhancement to our services. THis is a very nice hotel, at a little distance away from the main city center in Kuala Lumpur, it's very Cheap and had very basic services but is really a value For Money.
Neat and clean, no room service, no swimming pool, but nice staff, nice little rooms, clean hotel.
People who need value for money and wish to save money to shop , this is the place to be .

Room Tip: Take bigger room , they have 2 types of standard room . The bigger one is good.
