“Very nice additional new hotel in Kuala Lumpur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Stayed here for 1 night so could not give a very in depth review of this hotel. First impression was certainly good although it was not beyond my expectation. The only singularly problematic issue is just that the lobby is located on the 30th floor. That means, you go up to 30th floor to check-in. Take another lift to go to your rooms, go back again to lobby to change lift to go to the ground floor or to the restaurants below. Other than that, there were no other issue. The front desk execs were very understanding and accommodating when my credit card had a malfunction which means I had to retrieve another credit card from my luggage. I was asked to check in first and present them with the card wheneever I am ready. The bed was nice and view was fantastic and the space was big enough. The breakfast was really nice and again the view was great. Too bad I was on business trip therefore had to rush through breakfast. All in all, was happy with the stay and will be back again.

Stayed in the Grand deluxe view room and it was awesome! Good service from check-in and comfortable room with everything u need and amazing impressive view of the petronas towers from the bathroom to the bedroom!
Wow!
Really like that the Hyatt friendliness and service levels and comfort is the same no matter where you travel to! Felt at home and as always, felt very welcome!
Tip : if you are a gp member, u could use some points for an upgrade, it would be worth it!

Also, i loveee the hyatt touch where they try to help you with anything that u missed while packing - nail polish / makeup remover etc...

Well done Hyatt! If u want a 5 star hotel, the Grand Hyatt KL have to be your choice!

Dear starie, Thank you for taking time to share with us your stay experience. We are glad to hear that you had a memorable stay. The Hyatt Touch initiative works great for guests as they now do not have to worry about forgetting to pack something when travelling. If you did forget something, it is just a phone call away. We hope to welcome you back to your home away from home at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

One Of the best Hyatt Experience I've had so far . As you enter the ground floor you are welcomed from Ragan (Concierge area) . Recommendations from Concierge we're spot on. The Hotel is just about 12 months the carpet still smells new. The Hyatt is blessed to be built in some of the most picture perfect locations. You are absolutely in awe of The Pertronas Towers from Reception to Club Lounge & 38 Restaurant. The Bedrooms are quite large in comparison to Hotels of similar class. Only disappointment reservations in Australia requested a Petronas Tower view room at no charge . But on arrival it was advised that there was a surcharge. I was actually celebrating a special milestone in my life but I think that was lost in translation. But on the positive side I would like Management to acknowledge Beautiful Fara , Didi , Queenie & the Grand Club Lounge Crew for their professionalism. This area was definitely a chilled out zone with wide range of food & beverages to suit any palate.
In my eyes they were "The Hyatt" in K.L. These Guys welcomed us like family in an unknown city.
Progressing to Level 38 this area had fantastic food & a great Live band. Entertainment is organised by Nanda Event Service Assis. Management who was super enthusiastic including his team. Also I must commend Executive Sous Chef Satoru in all the meals prepared. Now one of my favourite places which is "The Gym" it catered for both machine & free weights. Now only improvement would be the size of the pool , which I felt was on the smaller size & surroundings slightly bland. It would be great if it had a tropical oasis feel ,but this is just my feedback from travelling around the world. Overall this Hotel has raised the bar with some of the " older Brands" in K.L. Keep up the good work.

Room Tip: Up-Grade to Club Room, access to Club Lounge is worthwhile

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

I stayed here for 3 nights with whole family including my parents, sister, husband, and my 6 year old son during time between Christmas and new year. This was our very first-time traveled to kuala lumpur together as a family. I might say, the reason I chose this hotel in the first place was only because it has cheaper price compare to other 5 star hotel in that time. And we are so happy that we made the right choice.

what we like about this hotel:
+ the location. The hotel facing towards to KLCC Petronas Twin Tower. We just need 5 minutes walk to get there. In KLCC area we can find Suria Mall, Petronas observation deck and some activity for my son like Petrosains and Acquaria to visited; there's also kids playground facility for free. My son love it.
In front of the hotel we can easily found a bridge that lead us to Bukit Bintang (Star Hill). Bukit Bintang is a street of shopping heaven like Singapore's Orchard road or Paris Champ Elysees. We just need 10 minutes walk to get there.
+ the room. Oh my God. We love the room. We stayed in Grand VIEW room which allow us to watch the magnificent view to the beauty of KLCC Tower. We also can watch the dancing water fountain show at KLCC park from our window. But this is only happen because we stayed in grand VIEW room.
The layout of the room is phenomenal. The bed and also the shower area are facing to the view of KLCC Tower.
+ the breakfast. There's a lot of variety from Chinese food, Malay food, Western food and it has an open kitchen buffet concept so we can watch the chef cooked for us. It was all taste delicious especially the chicken porridge with lots of topping to choose.

but there are things we need to share to other travelers:
- a lot of taxi drivers in Kuala Lumpur didn't know the location of this hotel. So we always told them to go to Jalan Pinang 12 instead of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, and it works well that way.
- the doorman staff a bit ignoring our presence (maybe not all of them, but some of them), when we arrived we a bit confused looking for the reception location and no staff willing to help us at that moment.
-the twin bed size a bit small for Hyatt standard.
- small pool but bigger than Mandarin's or Traders.

Anyway, Thank You Grand Hyatt KL for our great stay!

We have just completed a 6 night stay in the Hyatt in KL, and we had an excellent stay at this hotel.
We often stay at Hyatt hotels, as we are Hyatt members, and we know that the service and comfort at Hyatt hotels is to a high standard . The KL Hyatt did not disappoint.

From the second the elevator doors open and you see the Petronas Towers immediately behind the reception desks, you just had a comfortable feeling that you were in a high class hotel.
Check in was fast, efficient and very welcoming.
We had a room with a view of the Petronas Towers. The room was large, very well presented and comfortable. There was nothing that we could find fault with.
We ate quite often at the hotel, and the food was excellent. Prices were reasonable, and service was very good.
We also attended the New Year celebration buffet. The choice and quality of the food on offer was again just excellent, and the staff did everything to make the celebration as perfect as possible.
The staff are a credit to the Hyatt, and every member played their part in making our stay a very pleasant one.
The pool area is very nice, our only complaints would be that there are not enough loungers. A suggestion would be to create more decking area where there are palm trees beside the pool. That could accommodate another 12 beds at least.
Our only real complaint was that the pool area should be a non smoking area, or to provide an area where smokers can go. It is not pleasant to be beside smokers , whose smoke blows over you .
The shopping areas are just over 5 minutes walking from the Hyatt, so location is very good.

All in all, an excellent hotel, but they should focus on some of the poolside issues and it would really be fantastic.

Stayed here last week with my partner.

When we first reached the hotel, after we came out of the parking lifts, we could not see any reception or front desk for check in purpose. Hopefully there was one of the staff standing nearby and we were told that the check-in has to be performed at the sky lobby at the top floor.

So we switched to another lift and go all the way up to the lobby, the good thing is that this 2nd lift only has 2 buttons, ground floor or lobby. So the lift only serves between the bottom floor and the top floor.

Upon reaching the lobby, we were whisked to one of the available counter and check-in is fast and successful. Key cards will be given and the card is needed to access the lift to the room floor. When we reached the room, everything seems to be in order, except, there is no view of the twin towers. We booked the grand view club, but we only see Traders hotel in our window and part of the park.

We went back up the lobby again, but now the front desk is full. All manned counters were occupied. However, there are still empty counter and they still have some staff loitering around, yet they were acting like they did not see us. So we had to wait for around 30 minutes just to request for a change of room. There is no chairs to wait around the lobby, and the time to process each group of guest is just so slow. I think it is better they should just put a numbering system for front desk. We faced the same issue again when trying to check out later.

But we still get our room changed afterwards, although at a much lower floor.

The room design is quite fresh to behold. Especially the bath, wardrobe, toilet, basin area. I guess this is the modern design which I have seen almost similar design in Aloft before. The shower/bathtub area glass is transparent but there is a button to turn it become frosted so that it will not be transparent anymore. The bed and pillow is quite comfortable, and 4 bottles of water is given complimentary. Parking is also complimentary, just give the parking card to the front desk and they will switch another one which allow you to go out without paying.

One minor issue is that the TV is positioned right at the working desk area, if we are working on the desk, then surely there is no way we can watch the tv because it is too near.

The location of the hotel is good, as it is located nearby twin towers which has a shopping mall at the bottom, which means all the basic necessities can be taken care of. And the metro is conveniently located nearby and there is also a covered walkway all the way to Bukit Bintang nearby.

The price we were paying is bloated due to ad-hoc booking but it is still acceptable if we are to compare with the rest of the hotel nearby the area.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the twin tower if possible

Stayed here for a weekend early November 2013. First thoughts were it is odd how you take a lift up to the 30th floor in order to check in. The doorman who would normally help with the bags handed them to my wife, which I also found odd given the 5star status. Notheless a quick word at check in and all was rectified. Apparently the doorman should have known better and we provided an upgrade and breakfast as some sort of apology. Fair enough I say.Rooms and view were spectacular, switch operated frosted glass for the shower room which gives ab optional view to the person in the bedroom. Food was excellent, taxi services efficient. Good location connected by New passageway to main shopping centre. Not cheap but then again affordable by GH standards. Will stay again...
