We stayed at the Equatorial Hotel (KL) enroute to Bali in July this year. We stayed for two nights (3 days) and found this hotel to be very quiet, although the soft furnishings in the room were a bit ‘jaded’ especially the carpet and curtains. The room size was quite large, bathroom was very spacious, very clean and as mentioned earlier (especially when you need to catch up on your sleep after a long journey) the hotel was very quiet.
I must say that the hotel did offer us a fantastic service. Our flight arrived in from the UK early on Saturday morning, and even though check-in was mid afternoon, we emailed ahead and asked if we could have a room on arrival. They advised that the hotel was full and may not be able to accommodate our request. But … when we arrived at about 8.30am, sure enough after a speedy check-in we were advised that they had managed to have a room prepared for us, and in fact house-keeping were just finalising the preparation of it for us.
We did not eat in the hotel so we cannot provide any feedback on that, but they had a lovely piano bar on the way out of reception (right hand side) called ‘Flo’, and it was very relaxing and the staff were more than happy to rustle up whatever cocktail you fancied, and were even happy to recommend some. My husband had the most amazing Singapore Sling there, the best I have ever tasted. The Mojitos were also fantastic.
The location of the hotel was very good and central. KLCC was just about a 5 minute walk around the corner, and once you step out of the hotel and take a few steps you have a fantastic view of the Petronas Towers. It is worth noting that you must go to the Traders Hotel and take the lift to their ‘Sky Bar’ where you have the most amazing view of the Towers lit up at night. The seating areas surround a swimming pool and if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, they are very plush and luxurious with big leather cushions.
KLCC was an amazing shopping experience, never ending designer stores, lots of places to eat and all in all a great Mall (one of many).
You must also try to visit Putrajaya - the new city with its Palace and Massive new Mosque, very clean and impressive.
