My wife and I checked in to room #1823 on the night of May 18th, after checked-out from Dynasty Hotel on the same day. Earlier, we were told by the person who is in-charged of reservation that they do not have room with Queen Bed available for Deluxe room (as we wanted to use corporate rate), so we decided to book the Superior Room. Surprisingly our room were upgraded to Executive Deluxe which has not only Queen Bed but also baby cot and free WiFi, as if they are understand our disappointment in our previous hotel.
We can feel the cleanliness of the room the moment we entered the room. The carpet is clean, the bed is properly arranged, the toilet is clean and the room is spacious with all the amenities that you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The free breakfast at the Melting Pot was not disappointing. But I must say that the sambal for the nasi lemak was not that I expected as a nasi lemak fan. Luckily there was also a sambal sotong or squid sambal which tastes much better :) Other than that, I must say the food is awesome.
At night, you may enjoy the live band at Crossroad bar at the Ground Floor, or if you appreciate rock music the most, you may step in Hard Rock Cafe which is located just next a few steps away from the hotel. For those who are not driving, the public transport is pretty easy here. You can commute easily around the Golden Triangle area with the Monorail. The station is just a few minutes walk from the Concorde lobby.
If you are driving, you may want to slow down as you approach the hotel area as currently there are constructions going on at the main road, so look out for the temporary signage that indicates the entrance to the hotel.
But one thing that can be improved is the parking area. We had to park at the other building (it's part of the hotel, just a different building at the back). It's quite troublesome for those, especially for family with small kids to walk from the parking lot to the lobby. Even though there's elevator, one still need to walk all the way to the main building. I also reckoned that the In addition to that, we had some traffic issue, when one irresponsible visitor parked the car just next to the exit junction on Saturday night.
As I have not been into this hotel for more than 5 years, I thought the parking issue has been addressed. Perhaps, if there's a moving walkaway to the main building, that would be much convenient for guests to go from the parking area to the main hotel building. Another thing that can be improved is, to offer a special way for wheelchair for handicap or baby stroller - I found it difficult to keep on lift the baby stroller at a few stairs along the way from the parking area to the hotel lobby.
All in all, I must say that the stay in Concorde KL is a worth for money.
