we had a marvelous experience at this great hotel.
overall decoration is very elegant, check in a little bit slow, room very beautiful, spacious, clean but a little bit of noise (music) from a club down the street until 01:00 o'clock), swimming pool the best part of the hotel.the italian restaurant daniely was very ''italian'' in tastes and the decoration was superb.
live music at the bar in the evening was a very nice thought.
overall the hotel is very good in all aspects but most of the staff must learn better english -in this manner service will be better i think. a tip: try the spa-it is superb!

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — the fantastic pool area and the overall decoration
    • Disliked — the sometimes slow service and the some of the staff could not understand simple english words.

it was quite difficult choosing a hotel from the many on offer at kuala lumpur and as i had stayed at the mandarin oriental earlier and had liked it a lot --- it was a difficult choice but wanted to try out another nice hotel at KL.
imperial was a great choice in the end --- absolutely first grade ---excellent staff, very helpful ---- great value for money too!!! i would say that it is the most inexpensive way to enjoy a luxury hotel. the breakfast was amazing --- it included all that you can think and champagne too!! various fresh juices were being taken out right there, the egg station was amazing, even indian food was on offer at breakfast.
the room was absolutely top class with italian and wood bathrooms ( i have a weakness for italian marble bathrooms!!) the views are amazing from the rooms, specially the ones facing the petronas towers --- the location of the hotel is just near to a skyrail station and any way the hotel staff hail taxis for you in case you want and they are pretty inexpensive ---- paid about 15 ringitts for going to KLCC, about 2.50 ringitts if you go there by skyrail.
just outside the hotel is a row of restaurants and bars --- cochine is really worth trying for its good food ---- the celestial restaurant is excellent at the imperial hotel too!!!
i would definitely recommend the hotel very highly on all accounts!!!!

I really liked this hotel, the rooms are amazing and very large, wonderful bathrooms, wonderful beds, nice desk and lounge chair and a great big LCD TV, all the rooms are very nice and newly renovated. Amenity's in the bathroom were their own brand crappy luxury collation rubbish you get at all these brand hotels, god knows why if its a luxury hotel they don't have luxury amenity's in their bathrooms!. Anyway no complaints with the service or standard of this hotel, it is top class. The only downfall is the location is not on the door of anything, so expect a 10-15min walk to shops or sights, due to its location i would not stay at this hotel again, I like to be more central. Also internet was too expensive, where do these hotels get-off charging so much just to check a few emails!

Stayed in KL for three days and two nights where things started off badly. For those of you unaware, many taxi drivers in KL still refer to Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur as the “Sheraton”. There are a few other lower-tiered properties in KL by the name of “Imperial/Imperia” and you may end up in one of these random 2-3 star hotels if you are unlucky. To be sure, enunciate “Sheraton Imperial Hotel”.

After the initial difficulties trying to get to the hotel (the hotel reception was great help over the phone when we were lost), things got better quickly. The queue was long at the check-in counter but the ambiance of a cozy yet luxurious lobby kept the waiting bearable. Check-in was a breeze with friendly staff – not just the ladies at the check-in but everyone we came across on the way to our room. Every single one of them stopped to greet us with a genuine smile. Always refreshing to see smiles that are not ‘trained’ ones…

The room was nothing short of spectacular. Thanks to the recent renovation, it was spacious and luxurious with a large plasma TV and a view of the twin towers out the panoramic window. Amenities were plentiful and the bed (most important of all) was fresh and plush. Bathroom was a gem too with a separate shower and warm lights. In all, the rooms are brilliant. Mark my words – and my standards are very high.

The stay was comfortable thanks to the staff always hungry to assist and the tasteful surroundings. The pool can be a bit bigger but was designed nicely nevertheless. Breakfast left a tad to be desired but was above average nonetheless. There are plenty of beautiful paintings all throughout the hotel. One could spend half a day just going around admiring them.

The only blip suffered was on the last day, post check out. I was at the bar upstairs having my last glass of cocktail before I left when I slipped the glass and broke it. The waitresses were quick to come and clean it up but were (very) visibly frustrated. I apologized numerous times and managed to get an abrupt ‘It’s ok’ from one of them. I hope the management would realize that most guests would much rather pay for the broken glass and be treated well than to have to deal with staff’s unacceptable behavior for the mistake made.

Minus the solitary gripe, this property is a prime example of what a 5 star hotel should be and should be studied by other Starwood properties across the globe. One of the best hotels (in its class) I have stayed in and the one I would frequent.

“Kuala Lumpur Imperial is outstanding”

Hotel Imperial Kuala Lumpur

This property is up there with the world's best. It has the perfect combination of excellent location, well designed rooms, beautiful public areas, superb finishes, useful amenities and truly professional and personalized service. A real bonus is the Monorail station at the door.

I stayed twice in a ten day period; returning tired and dirty after 3 days of trekking. Most 5 star hotels would get you out of sight as quickly as possible. The staff here greeted me as a long lost friend.

For the on-line price, this hotel is superb value and should define the top brand for Starwood.
