“Ultra convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

The location couldn't be better. Situated directly above KL Sentral Station with its fast KLIA link to the airport, means you can stay in the hotel pool until the last possible moment - then go get your flight. The facilities and quality of rooms are to a very high standard. The staff were very accommodating, helping me choose tours and advice on bars. Le Meridien Bar was one of the few I found in KL that was open late. The pool is well designed with little waterfalls and a cavelike walkway. I requested a DVD player for my room - the staff were obliging and it wasn't too much extra cost - I cant remember exactly how much. The toilets are pretty fancy - they have one of those probes that come out & squirt water. The breakfast had one of the largest selections of hot and cold food I had seen.

Rates are extremely competitive to surrounding hotels (Aloft and Hilton). Well connected to the near KL Sentral which is in turn connected to KLIA, LCCT as well as the City Centre.

Great amenities and responsive staff, except for minor glitches. My requests for my preferred smoking room was somehow overlooked, several of the hotel facade and amenities are extremely tired and worn.

Management is well equipped to address all the highlighted areas effectively, while hotel overall is acceptable in all areas.

Very good buffet breakfast spread, but items tend to vary in standard and sometimes appearance. Nasi Lemak was "pre-packed" for the first few hours with condiments such as salt-fish, beef and squid packed together. But subsequently seemed to only display coconut rice self-help without the mentioned condiments anymore. But staff are extremely helpful and a delight to all the guests.

Well-equipped pool and gym, shared with the Hilton hotel. And a extremely well-adorned executive lounge with plenty of offerings during cocktail hours.

Overall a great hotel with reasonable facilities and rates, will definitely be more alluring after the well-needed refurbishment.

Room Tip: Good SPG recognition.

Dear derekang1980,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

Thank you for sharing your detailed experiences with us. I am happy to read that overall you had a wonderful stay with us. However, I sincerely apologise for the mixed up by my associate regarding your room request. Please rest assure that it will be highlighted during my briefing with them. As for the hotel façade and amenities being worn out, it is definitely in the pipeline to upgrade certain areas so that our guests will have more up to date amenities that they can enjoy.

We hope to have another opportunity to serve you better in the near future.

Warm regards,

Beautiful place to stay with spacious room and nice facilities. Staff was courteous and helpful especially the Indian door man who helped us on our parking needs. They also provide free internet during our stay which was a bonus. Convenient location and would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: 15th floor has a good view

Excellent service, good gym, breakfast. Good pool and convenient location. Stayed there 6 nights April and would recommend. The bar was reasonable and not pushy. Bar food a little too 'modern' ie small portions etc and foxtel sports- appalling station. Hey if that's the biggest hassle- go and enjoy the pool and catch a train from Central station about 100 metres away. Main tourist attractions either close by or on metro line for access. Finally Jeremy- manager- interested in feedback....as we're the staff- go and enjoy.

Dear Tony W,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

I am happy to know that you had a great 6 days stay with Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. However, as per your comment regarding the food portion at the bar area, we have revised the menu and made sure that there's a clear difference with the tapas menu and main menu items to help reduce confusion. We will also be looking at the TV programming in that location to ensure that we provide a choice of shots that are suitable for the audience we have in the bar at the time.

Warm regards,

Our last leg of a 2 weeks journey in Malaysia, so we decided to relax before our flight back. It was looking to an easy way to get to KLIA as I do not like to take the road trip. The hotel was a great location to get to KLIA, wheel your own luggage to MH check-in in KL Sentral and off your go to KLIA in the Express.
By the way , if you have a very early flight on MH/CX/EK, you can check-in a day before as the counter closes at 11.30pm.
The kids love the pool facilities.
The only issue we had was the signage to get the Le Meridien lobby was practically none existence or visible. Two of my friends were able to drive get to the lobby after several attempts and one gave up so we had to wait for them at KL Sentral entrance.

Dear sklim88,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

Thank you for your comment and we truly appreciate you highlighting the signage to us. I take note of your signage comments and understand that we have signs located at the KL Sentral exit from the KLIA, then both in the main concourse area and upper floor. However, signage is not located at the other end and this may have been cause of your problem. Once the new rail station updates are done, we will request that the signage to be included there as well to better assist our guests.

We hope to another opportunity to serve you better next time. Travel safe.

Warm regards,

Harvey J. Thompson

The best thing about this hotel is it is located next to KL Sentral which makes it easy for you to go almost everywhere in Kuala Lumpur. Even it's a bit pricey, it's worth spending by using all the facilities provided. The sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, swimming pool etc. It's also good staying here if you need to catch a flight early in the morning. It's far from KLIA yet 28 minutes away by Express Train. Everybody's friendly.

Room Tip: Premier room is good as it is located at the end of each floor. So, it is slightly bigger.

If you are stopping over in KL on your way to somewhere else in Malaysia, after a long long long haul flight from Europe, you can't do much better than Le Meridien to wind down. An easy 30-minute trip from the airport to KL Sentral on the KLIA Express, and Le Meridien is right there...beds & pillows really comfy, service excellent, nice swimming pool on the 8th floor. Our only gripe was having to pay extra for wi-fi in the rooms in what is already a fairly expensive hotel (around £75 a night for the room, we were 3 people including our daughter).

Room Tip: Go high...the views are spectacular.
