On arrival we were asked if we wished to upgrade to the Horizon club , this gave access to the cocktail bar 5-7pm free snacks and drinks (not really free because you pay for joining the club ), breakfast their is a dream with the service excellent and food great !
The pool area is good , the concierge facility is excellent .
Yes the price is high but no higher than other similar hotels and it is hard to believe you can get better service . Hard Rock Cafe is directly opposite and Petronas Towers a shuttle bus away , our view was the KL Tower , it is hard to avoid construction work in KL as the city is changing constantly
as with Singapore . I was here 20 years ago and the only thing not to change was Petaling Street.

Stayed here for 3 nights on the lead up to NYE.
From the moment we checked in, the service and smiles were top notch! The room was lovely, spacious and clean, unfortunately we had a view of a quarry. The other guests in our party had a view of the patronus towers which was obviously a lot better.
The pool, gym and spa area is fabulous, again with very friendly service. There are separate male & female jacuzzi, sauna & steam rooms in the changerooms. A very relaxing place to hang out, just would have been nicer to enjoy it with my husband rather than apart.
The buffet breakfast every morning was probably one of the best I've experienced, and I have been to many. Such a wide selection of foods for all cultures. And freshly made omelettes etc as you wait. Also on offer was a healthy egg white omelette as well which I recommend.
We ended up having our NYE dinner at the same buffet restaurant that the breakfast is held in. We ordered ala carte. The staff had set it all up with fancy hats, balloons and party whistles at each seat.
The hotel is about a 5-10min walk to the patronus towers and the large shopping centre below it.
Every part of my stay was met with exceptional service and I highly recommend staying here to others!

Attention and friendliness of staff made the stay a very positive experience. Although we went out every day, making use of both the complimentary hotel bus to the main shopping areas and the very convenient monorail, it would have been very easy just to stay within the grounds of the hotel and have a great holiday as everything was there, restaurants, cafes, shops, etc.

Very good location, excelent staff and very good maintenance of the hotel and rooms. Good Fitness; Good ambiance at the lobby and bar spaces; Very diverse offer regarding food and drinks at the Breakfast but a bit "the same" as in many other hotels.

Room Tip: The rooms near the lifts can be noisy!

We came before the new year with friends for shopping and to celebrate new years eve. The welcome was polite, professional and friendly. Everything was really great and we would love to stay there when we visit KL again.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in a standard room. Service was attentive. Room was comfortable with all the usual amenities. Breakfast was delicious and you will be spoilt for variety. The location is priceless for shopping as it is only 5 minutes walk to KLCC and 15 minutes to Lot 10 and Pavilion. We were there for a business meeting so I had my hair done at the beauty salon and both of us also had massages at the spa. It was dismally poor in quality for both and I wouldn't be returning again. Instead we discovered donna spa at starhill gallery. See my separate review.
Overall, we will stay again when next in kl as it is a reasonable priced hotel in a fantastic location.

Fist time ever in a Shangri-La and rather disappointed.

Very average business hotel. Nothing that could remind you of a 5 star house. Small rooms which do not even provide place for 2 pieces of luggage. Bathroom amenties are below average. 1 small set of shampoo and shower gel does not serve 2 people in a city where you sweat all day long. No cotton pads, no sewing kit, no shaving kit, not much place for your own things.
Air condition is blowy and noisy.
On first day they skipped turndown service. In the second day we had to call housekeeping to get the room services. Room service left unfinished with cupboard doors open...

The pool is a major disappointment. A quite outdated, not clean, a bit shabby and absolutely nothing special. Service staff at the pool is extremely unattentative. Menu is rather overpriced and waiting times are vey long.

Not extremely bad but no reason to stay at Shangri-La again.
