I stayed at Grand Millenium, KL from 5 to 8 June 2009.
The staff and service were indeed of 5 star standard. they acceded to my requests almost at once and some were proactive to provide even before i asked.
Unfortunately, my first impression was marred by an incident which cannot be ascertained to be truthful or not. My domestic helper lost a RM50 note when she placed her wallet in a backpack which she allowed the porters to bring up the luggage to the room. The staff did an investigation but wasn't able to establish any leads.
The overall ambience was nice but a little dark for my liking. Room was also nice but it was clearly a refurbished room. There were areas of dissatisfaction which i experienced. The walls were pretty thin. i could hear my next door guests using the toilet! The hot water wasn't really hot as well. Was hoping for a real nice relaxing hot tub experience...I could not control the room temperature. Settings available is low,med and high but the low was still really cold. Interestingly, my family could sleep through the night comfortably with the aircon off. On one of the days after returning to my room. there was cigarette smell in the room. Dont know how it got there! I don't smoke.
Other than these misgivings, it was a pretty good experience at this hotel. If asked whether i would stay there again, i would really reconsider unless its a really good deal. Oh yes, the car park is brightly lighted and the exit is manned by a parking attendant in a booth. Felt safe to park my car there. Location is great with many roadside eateries available. of course, the newest shopping centre along bt bintang is right smack beside the hotel.
