“worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

The service offered makes all the difference. Doormen, concierge, front desk and maids all seemed to be concerned about every detail. In my opinion, for a Mandarin Oriental hotel, they could start thinking about replacing some mattresses, carpets and curtains. We woke up with noises from room/bathroom above... complimentary wi-fi is available only for club floors but these ‘details’ do not change my first impression: I would stay in this hotel next time!!
The view (twin towers) from Traders Hotel is better, but the excellent quality of service (MO) is worth the higher cost.

Room Tip: excellent service, location, food...

Our second stay was just as good as the first. We upgraded to club service and enjoyed the excellent and hospitality that this gives. We cannot praise the staff highly enough any request was always dealt with immediately and graciously.
The managers of the club class were superb paying 100% attention to ensure the guests received the best service possible at all times. we will certainly be returning to this fabulous hotel.
Thank you to all the staff for making our four day stay so enjoyable. The manager even escorted us to the our taxi as we left.

We went to KL to visit a very very dear friend. We love the Mandarin Oriental brand and selected it in KL. We arrived and were greeted at the front door by management and staff. We were then taken to the Club Floor to check in (Club Floor is a must).

After check in we were delivered to our suite overlooking the park and the Twin Towers. Absolutely stunning view.

We were pampered and lavished with terrific attention. It was a 6 or 7 or 8 star experience (on a five star scale). Thank you to Framk, Richard, Saakshee and John for the terrific service and experience. We wish we could have stayed forever.

The spa was extraordinary and the treatments were some of the best my wife has ever had. Shopping is convenient and the property has several choices for dining. The Mandarin Grill was without compare in KL. Chef Uwe makes creative dishes out of the best ingredients.

Highly recommend and would not think of staying anywhere else in KL. Thank you to all the professional, courteous and special staff.

Had a 2 night stay here in Feruary 2013 having stayed before. Service of a uniformly high standard throughout. Some areas of the hotel are being refurbished though there was no inconvenience as a result. Rooms a little dated perhaps with bathrooms a little on the small side but not bad. Breakfast at Mosaic good through Shangri La offerng superior in my opinion. Had 2 meals at Lai Po Heen which a little unatmospheric in the evening though food very good. Location very good - dofficult to choose between Shangri La and here when staying in KL.

Room Tip: Go for view of Petronas Towers.

just arrived back from this stay at the manderin oriental, we stayed in a club room we stayed for six days and we cannot praise the staff highly enough for making our stays one of the best stays we have had anywhere. It is difficult to pick out anyone person for special praise as everyone give us fantastic service but one person stood out in his effort to see to our every need his name was AWI if you stay at this hotel find him front of house. On a cautionary note my wife had her hand bag snatched on the street but the hotel security took great care of us escorting us to the police station and back, thanks mandarin oriental for a fantastic stay.

Room Tip: club rooms and facilities are the way to go

Stayed for 2 nights at MO on a weekend getaway from Singapore. While KL is not my favourite city in the world, I would definitely visit more often if I stayed at the MO every time.

The rooms had all the modern comforts yet (unlike many big hotels) retained a certain cosiness and comfiness. I had no issues staying in our room all day (much to my partner's annoyance), watching tv and taking long baths in the lovely and spacious bathroom.

The staff are very courteous and treat everyone as if they are the only guests there. The breakfast buffet is one of of the most scrumptious and diverse buffets I have ever partaken of and the Lounge on the Park (the MO's ground floor lounge) serves up some great desserts (try the classic banana split!). If you have the time and don't mind spending over RM 500 for a 2 person meal (excl. alcohol) try the Mandarin Grill - the steak's fantastic and you get to choose your own steak knife (a nifty touch!).

Highly recommend the MO for both business and pleasure trips to KL.

Room Tip: Recommend going for a high floor premium room overlooking the petronas towers - great view, especial...

This is the third time I have had the pleasure of staying in this hotel and it never disappoints. From the moment you get out of the car and are greeted by the lovely uniformed doormen, you know that you are staying at 'one of the best'.
The buffet breakfast has everything you could ever want. Afternoon tea in the lounge on the park, cocktails in the smokey piano bar (they get away with it!) after dinner in the superb Chinese restaurant, who would want to stay elsewhere?
Central for shopping, great pool and gym and the most attentive and pleasant staff. Love it here and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Get a park view room so you can watch the fountains.
