“It's cheap and clean and that is all”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

The boss is a nice guy and it's cheap and iclean but the restof it is broken of almost broken... From taps to toilet flush. The place is carpeted (Iek!!). The floor bounces when somebody walks by (inside). You feel every spring in the mattress (in the double room) etc. We did not like it, but it is kind of clean and cheap. So as long as you know what you are up to it can be a nice stay.

For me it´s the best place to stay in chinatown!
it´s my second time here and i´m very statisfied! last year i was searching and i´ve seen 5 diffrent guesthouses/hotels. and my decision was the right one!
willie is very friendly and helpful, the woman too. she didn´t speak english, but she helps as good as she can!
the rooms, shower, toilets,... are very clean! beds are good and u feel very compfortable!
it´s close to the market, train and buses. to the airportbus (8mry) u have to walk 5-10min.
specially for this location is it very quietly. if u want u can sleep until 12 o´clock or longer.
i will come again!
Btw they have a cat, if u allergic!

This was my 5th time in Birdnest and from the first day it felt like coming home! Willi is the best host you can wish for: makes sure you're alright, encourages social events, helps you find your way. The 'living room' is cosy and the roof terrace (partly roofed) is a nice place to hang out. I'll be back!!

Room Tip: Bring toilet paper

At 35MRY a night you cannot beat the Bird Nest I. We stayed here 3 nights and our room was comfortable, quiet, not hot and did not smell like cat pee. Yes the stairs leading up to the entrance do but other than that the guesthouse is very clean. It's also very close to everything and the owner Is available to help you with any kind of information or onward booking needed. The wifi is fast and you get use of a kitchen and all day tea and coffee free. A great choice!

Room Tip: We stayed on the opposite side of where the kitchen and common area was and I think it was a quieter...

I stayed here 1 night. after being treated really badly by the asian guy at the reception i cancelled my 2 weeks to stay here & moved to a better place.

I asked for some simple information after just arriving in KL but he didnt care, he said he was too busy & "i cant help you now" is what he said.

replace this guy immediately he is as useless as a white crayon

Loved the staff. Great, friendly group, very helpful. The rooms were not the best and the bathrooms could use a little work, especially the one with very little water pressure. It was pretty warm in the whole place in general but the rooms were quite warm. The fan doesn't quite cut it and maybe there was no A/C in the lobby area too, I'm not sure, but it wasn't cool.

I understand the no TP in the toilets rule but you gotta supply some TP (although in Malaysia you should always come prepared for that).

My sheets didn't stay on my mattress for longer than about 15 minutes. They just simply don't fit the mattress and that was a little unpleasant. I also didn't have a top sheet, which, while it wasn't really necessary due to the heat, is still a nice touch. The pillows were really really thin and just didn't provide much of a head prop. There also was absolutely no spot in the room to set your stuff. A small shelf just to maybe set your keys and cell phone would be really handy, but everything has to go on the floor instead.

They provided a towel free of charge, big bonus there, even though I didn't need it.

Cool place, good folks, fun design, but the rooms were just not very comfortable or convenient.
