“Great burger ....... should try”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

If you are in KL, don't miss trying one of this. located in certain corner of KL streets, Chinatown, Jln Alor, & also any nite market, surburban town centre.

I bet this is even better than Mc Donald & burger King!! Price starts from US$US$60/pc at street stall & US$0.50 at local nite bazaar. I hate Mc D after trying this.

“Food lovers paradise in KL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

No visit to KL is complete without experiencing the nightly food extravaganza of Jalan Alor. It's busy, crowded and full-on in-your-face Asia, but the food from any of the restaurants and hawkers is the essence of Malaysia. Grab a table and order from the colourful printed menus that will be thrust before you and you will have a wonderful experience you will remember for years.

“Overated! Poor food quality!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

As a local KL resident, Jalan Alor used to be popular with local street food with very affordable prices. However, since the 1990s when this place started to get popular with foreign tourists, the prices hiked and quality of food became very poor. For tourists from western countries, many would think it is a unique place to find local street food. Boy...they are so WRONG! Many popular street food hawkers has moved to Petaling Jaya or they died off. Touyrists should try going to suburbs like SS2 food court in Petaling Jaya where they can find more authentic street food with local price tags.

“A great night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

We stayed close by Jalan Alor at the Swiss Garden Hotel, and it took us a few days to even find out Jalan Alor existed - I wish we'd found it sooner!

As the sun sets, most of the car traffic is diverted from Jalan Alor and the strret food vendors roll in, the lights go on and the people arrive! We started at the top of Jalan Alor and leisurely strolled down the ever so slight hill tasting tid bits from the multitude of stalls parked along the side of the road. One that particularly took our fancy was like a fondue cart, where you buy your food already on a skewer, and you cook it yourself, sipping a drink of course, then adding condiments ! Outstanding!

We eventually found a table in what looked like a popular "restaurant", and sat outside on - yep you guessed it - plastic chairs at a plastic table. So, what's wrong with that? We sat there for a couple of hours, well into the night just enjoying the whole thing.

We chose some appetisers, then a range of dishes and shared - with tall bottles of Tiger Beer lovingly chilled in a small tub filled with ice right at my table.

The passing parade of locals, tourists (just like us, wide eyed and incredulous), touts and others made the atmosphere electric.

It's probably not the most hygenic place to eat, and it is pretty basic, but seriously the food and whole experience is outstanding - and in Australian dollar terms very very cheap.

We will be back in December and no doubt will eat here more than once!

“Over priced tourist rubbish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

Unfortunately, over the last 10 years, this place has been on a serious decline, catering to bus loads of mainland China tourists. Subsequently, quality and value has severely dropped, but still a lively place for out of towners to visit and get a variety of meals. Chicken Fish and Sting Ray are some of the more popular dishes here, and if cooked nicely with fresh fish, are fantastic
