i stayed here last november 4, 2013 on my first stop around southeast asia. the place is very convenient because it is within the heart of the shopping and food haven. a few walks from this hotel is the main road where all vehicles go to different places. walking distance from this place too are the train station (KTM), old buildings, the night market and shopping centers and not to mention this is in the heart of china town itself! food around the area is very good and cheap. pretty safe i think and well lighted. the hotel has a safety deposit box and it has an electronic gate lock for people who will come late at night from partying or shopping.

Room tip: When I went last november 4, they have a promo. I paid only 40 MYR a night. i chose the room closest to the terrace, overlooking the china town,. it gives a good view of the china town.

check in/out - not a big issue
security - surprisingly got auto lock grill gates for each floor plus cc tv
location - a BIG plus, right in the middle of china town, ample food choice and shopping!!!
whats close by - the bus station( to all outstations) and train stations (pasar seni and plaza rakyat)
room - no windows, but otherwise plenty of room space, big bed, shower (towel and gel provided), only problem the shower is not so hot and low force of water.
caution - saw brawls and women around the hotel, better mind your own business and be safe. never take cabs waiting outside the china town - rip off.

Room tip: Saw lot of trouble makers around - so better mind your own business. Cabs in and around china town - a clear rip off. Cafetaria is expensive but good for a laid back morning as you watch china town unfolding its business. Hotel/room is good for solo back packers on a budget.

We only stayed one night, have stayed before. Rooms have no windows but it is cheap!

Was supposed to be a non smoking room but smelt of cigarettes and had an ashtray on bedside table.

Fantastic location as in centre of Chinatown markets.

Due to no windows, no noise from outside, but walls are thin so can hear noise from other rooms.

Breakfast ok. Wifi good in bar and rooms.

Room tip: only 2 twin rooms

We arrived at 6.00AM, and we could check in immediately. Which was really nice, so we had a place to stay till we were going to see the city. It is in the middle of China Town, which is a very nice spot to see things around the city. The train is really close and you can get a cab easily around the neighbourhood. The beds were really good, after backpacking for 2 months, it was nice to have a good bed. Shower is fine, and hot. Perfect place if you spend most of the day around the city!
