This is a nice clean guest house in a brilliant location in central KL. Situated only a couple of minutes walk from the nearest monorail line, the guest house is also just a straightforward 10 minute stroll to KLCC / Petronas Towers or the Menara KL Tower.
Whilst the location itself is nice and quiet, there is a lovely bar just two doors down called Pallet, Pallet, which is well priced and does a good lunch time special menu. There are also a number of upmarket bars dotted around the large hotels nearby. Although you wouldn't guess from the serenity of the location, just two streets behind is one of the most lively streets in KL, with loads of bars serving tasty food and drinks and vying for your business with crazy offers such as "ladies nights", free cocktails for women, and pints of Tiger from as little as 6.80rm (£1.40). The deals seem to be too good to be true at times, but there isn't any catch, they just want your business.
The guesthouse is modern and spacious, with friendly staff. There is a lovely common area with sofas, tables and two free (fast) internet PCs. A buffet continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Wifi is available for free, but doesn't reach the room areas.
The rooms are compact, but well decorated and very clean. There was no window in our standard double room, but they had attempted to brighten things up with a full wall to wall mirror. Although this was slightly strange, it did give the effect of making the room bigger. The air con in the room was very effective, the shower was electric so there was hot water on demand, and the safe in the wardrobe was handy. The rooms were very quiet and we had no trouble getting a good sleep, although waking up isn't the easiest with no natural light in the room.
In summary, this guest house offers a great standard of accommodation for a very reasonable rate in a big city. We would have like liked a window, and the rooms lacked wifi coverage, but these are minor negatives when you consider the comfort and brilliant position for touring the city.
