“We really enjoyed our stay here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

We were able to walk from Pudu Bus Station when we arrived in KL and had an easy walk to the train station (to go to Sentral) when we left. The Petaling Street markets were right outside the door and there were heaps of good eating places within a short walk, including Maccas and Subway. The staff were really friendly, helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was included and this hotel has elevators. We were also able to leave our luggage after check out and wait in the cafe till it was time to go. Our room smelled of durian but you kinda get used to that in Asia.

I had booked this hotel ahead for 2 nights based on price and location. Google maps showed this hotel very close to the Petronas Towers and because I had business there I thought I'd book this hotel. Google maps was wrong! The hotel is a 20 minute drive from the Towers and nowhere near them! The hotel is located in the Chinatown area of KL.
Check in was quick and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
As soon as I walked into the room I wanted to leave. The stench was unbearable. The room was very basic. A tiny TV, twin beds, no drawers or tables. I tried opening a window but the stench was still just as strong. I decided to leave right away and get another hotel...so I did.
I would only recommend this hotel to the cash strapped traveler who doesn't mind roughing it and bad smells.

I stayed at D'Oriental Inn in February last year, it is a no frills accommodation, but it's amazing value for money.

The inn itself is nestled in the amazingly busy and lively Petaling street. There is a mass of eateries around and cheap shopping. It is close to Central Markets and the bus arena.

The breakfast is filling and plentiful, they have great fresh fruit and decent coffee.

If you want a clean place to sleep, rather than a place to stay for the entirety of your trip, D'Oriental Inn is the way to go.

I will make the suggestion to take a bus to the Batu Caves, it is breathtaking. But wear fitting clothes, there are monkeys on the stairs that stole a lady's poncho (rightfully too, it was a hideous poncho)

we stayed here last October 2011, good price for a nice place. staff speak good English and are very accommodating. a travel agent is also available to arrange city tours. best thing about this is you can practically ask for discounts both in the hotel and city tour arrangement, including hotel-airport transfer. meals are also good at a cheap price. for those who love to do bargain shopping, the street is turned into a night market starting 6 pm. wifi is also good. will definitely stay again in this place when we come back to KLM.

We stayed there last july 2012. We booked 2 days before the actual stay. No hassle at all. The wi-fi connection is good. The staffs speak good english and were very accomodating. Though, the street where this inn is located transforms into a night market, its practically okay especially for those who loves seeing lots of people and good finds! Haha. The breakfast was delicious and the crowd is manageable. The rooms are also clean. Though, i'd appreciate if the tv is bigger and if the bathrooms contain sufficient toiletries :))

travel from east coast before have intention to stay a nite in KL...walk in to this hotel with rate offer RM100 nett with 2 person breakfast. Room is big, got higher floor and far from lift. Room wt 2 single bed and no smelly n basic facilities inside the room. No big deal.

In front of the hotel is shopping area and you don need to walk far to get any gud price for shoe, bag and cloths. Very easy to get taxi or city train to go anywhere, I bet you.

Staff is friendly, food is good and delicious.
