“Good food in a busy area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

We went at a very busy time (20:00) and the staff had problems getting us menus. We had to ask several times which was annoying. The food was great even though the starters came after the mains, don't think they have grasped the idea of starters in SEA as this is not the first time this has happened. Price was ok: 2 starters, 2 mains, water and big beer 67RM. We will go back, but probably order less as portions are generous.

“Undeserved reputation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

The "famous" black noodles weren't as awesome as some people might suggest. The standards may have fallen, and it certainly wasn't anywhere near the best in the world,

It wasn't inedible, but it just wasn't outstanding - a little too greasy for me, and it wasn't exactly cheap, after all you're paying (abeit low-end) restaurant prices for street food which is available elsewhere for significantly less.

What really spoilt the deal was the poor attitude of the staff. They insisted that we ascent the flight of stairs to dine upstairs, but one among us was obviously mobility impaired and not in a state to walk up the staircase. We finally settled for a seat below on the ground level. For some unknown reason after, the attitude shown by the staff took a negative turn. We quickly left after sampling the first and only dish, the noodles as described above, as the staff were clearly uninterested in our business.

“Good noodles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Chinese noodles are still one of my favourite local food. Although it doesn't seem healthy but food is food, we can't have it all. My first encounter with this 'brand' was in Chinatown where you will see foreigners and locals devouring this simple but tasty style of Chinese food. Mind you that simple food does not mean we take their cooking for granted. Months of training is required in cooking this simple meal especially in the technique of handling the wok temperature. My second visit was in a shopping mall not too far from Chinatown. Indoor seatings and airconditioned, business seems to be running well for them.

“Noodles again!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

Visiting China Town we had to try a dinner here. Ate outside amongst the din and chatter of everything that makes China Towns so special. Simple food of noodles with prawns and chicken but ample washed down with an Asahi beer, I think!
Very basic and I feel it would not be good to know too much about the back kitchen, spent dishes are consigned to a large plastic bucket and taken upstairs. However the food is what this place is all about and it did not disappoint. Quick service, tasty, could have done with a few more prawns and not sure that they were in fact King Prawns. Seemed rather small. But hey for the total cost of 46 Malay ringit for a meal for two who cares.
Try it and eat out on the street, full of delights.

“One of the best Hokkien Mee in KL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We know that one of the must-eat in KL is the Hokkien Mee and was introduced to Kim Lian Kee Restaurant. We loved their Hokkien Mee and they are always our choice for good Hokkien Mee. They have a stall in Lot 10 Hutong and a restaurant in Chinatown.
