“A somber reminder”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

A short climb from the street, the park showcases a multitude of sculptures representing peace -- the most famous of which is the looming centerpiece. The grounds also display the ruins of prison that was destroyed in the atomic blast. The park can be busy at times, but is well worth the visit. As an aside, for a more interesting glimpse of Nagasaki's feral cat population, use the side entrance/exit's winding path.

“Short walk from ground zero”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is a beautiful park. I wish it would not have been raining so hard the day we went. The grounds are simple, but beautifully kept. Take the time to walk the periphery and look at the "Peace Sculptures" sent by various countries.

“Significant location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This park features sculptures donated to Nagasaki by various countries to symbolize desires for peace. The sculptures are varied. The garden marks the site of ground zero. The garden also features a fountain through which can be seen (good photo opportunity) the huge peace sculpture that is the centerpiece of the park. After visiting the Atomic Bomb Museum, a stroll through the park is of interest.

“Beautiful park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Beautiful park with many flowers surrounding a huge statue. A lot of tourists and many students who had their class pictures taken in front of the statue. Worth a look for what it represents.
