“High Standard Room with Strange Bathroom Layout”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

I had just stayed in a Chisun hotel in Kumamoto the night before and was surprised this was of a much higher standard than the one I had just stayed at. Its one tram stop down from Nagasaki station so you could walk the 5 mins but you can buy a day tram pass at the station.
I had an 8th floor south facing room with had a good view of the skyline and harbour. The room was much more spacious than the previous night at the Chisun Kumamoto. There was room to walk around the double size bed, space to put luggage, and comfortable for two persons.
The bathroom had a strange layout. The sink is in the main living room with the bed. The toilet is in its own close room to one side of the entrance. The shower room is a seperate room to the other side of the entrance. I hope all these door handles are being cleaned!
The toilet has electronic controls which is normal for Japan. Also when you flush there is a water fountain above the water tank. I realized later this is the sink to wash your hands. If you need more water you have to flush again as both are linked together.
The shower room was quite comfortable and had two bathing options. There was a western style tub but only about 3 ft long. Or they had the asian style open concept bathing beside where you sit on a stool and wash yourself.
There was a choice of many satellite tv channels and you can switch satellites to get more channels. There are vending machines outside to buy time for the porn movies or buy drinks.
The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Also there is nice modern decor in the rooms.
For shops and restaurants you can either go back to Nagasaki station or north of chinatown is a long shopping arcade with lots of restaurants. The tram line outside will take you to all the tourist spots so good to have a tram pass.
Great location to access the station, tram line, and tourist spots.

10 minute walk from Nagasaki JR station, staff were extremely helpful, had great English and jumped in at every opportunity to help. Good size room for Japan standard. Clean and functional hotel. Tram stop at front door connecting to most of Nagasaki attractions. Chinatown, shopping centre and waterfront restaurants all within 5-10 mins walk away.

Heloz! We stayed one night at the Chisun Grand Hotel in Nagasaki and I can only say it was absolutely heavenly!! The lunch at the ground floor eatery was such value-for-money!! The room was spotlessly clean and the bedsheets and mattress was very comfortable.

This is a very nice hotel which lies in the neighbourhood of Nagasaki station. Alrhough it borders on a big busy road, there's no noise from the traffic in your room because it's very well isolated. The rooms were small but clean en all the things you could need were there. Personel was very friendly en kind. For us it was a great place from where to see the sights of Nagasaki. Furthermore it was a cheap hotel (for Japanese conditions)

The hotel is within 10 mins walk from JR Nagasaki station or 3 mins walk from the nearest tram station. If you take bulk luggage, please do not take tram to the hotel because the tram is so small. Again, the room is small but very clean with necessary amenities(e.g. free lan internet, fridge). Room rate is about 8500 yen per night. Staff are friendly and can speak little english. Shopping mall and nice restaurants are right next to Nagasaki station. It's highly recommended to take cable car and enjoy the great night scenery of Nagasaki.

The service we had at the hotel could not be faulted. However, the 'standard' room was small for two and there was very little room for any luggage. However, having said that, I would go back but would make sure that we reserved a bigger room. Breakfast was very good value

Being a 10 minute walk from the train station and across the road from the tram stop, needed to catch the tram to Nagasaki peace park and atomic bomb museum. Staff were friendly and helpful giving us local maps and helping with directions. The Chisun had that well decorated boutique hotel feel to it, but was one of the cheapest options in the area we found. Rooms comfortable with kettle and fridge.
