Heaps of people, but thats what you expect in a major city in Japan.Countless food choices with spruikers offering deals for some of the more out of the way (upstairs) restaurants. Everything from octopus balls to fugu and okonomayaki is on offer. All safe to eat and affordable.(We didnt try the fugu).
Majority of this area is under cover so it would be a good spot during wet weather.
Glico bridge corner on the Dotonbori River is a must see at night. Lots of illuminated signage. A great place to watch some of the locals "hang out".
