“Interesting walking path”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Not much embellishment as I expected, but inside gives lots of history background. The perimeter around the castle is interesting and worth walking along.

“Take in a little history ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

I love visiting spots like these so far away from home, taking you back to a time & place so unfamiliar removed from modern life. The architecture is incredible & the city views from the top of the castle are well worth the trek to the top.

I visited during cherry blossom festival, which made it even more spectacular.

“A nice spot for a walk and tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

The castle grounds provide a relaxing place to walk and stroll. The castle itself has some really interesting architecture. There are lots of exhibits inside, almost all of them with English translations. It's a nice spot to fill up a few hours.

“Great to see in Spring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

In spring, the path towards the castle is lined with beautiful cherry blossoms. It's a sight not to be missed! The uphill walk towards the castle is very interesting in itself. Then the castle comes into view. Its well-preserved paint lends it a fresh and modern look. We did not go inside the castle since a local informed us that the inside looks more like a mall than what you imagine a castle is supposed to be. Still, definitely a must-see in Osaka. Beautiful even at night. A number of food vendors littered the park around the castle for the celebration of Sakura Festival. The park was full with families and friends having picnic under the cherry blossoms.
