“Don't use the phone!”

Hilton Osaka

This was about my sixth or seventh stay at the Hilton Osaka but also my last. Quite simply I made two approx. 4 minute calls back to Australia and got charged the equivalent of about AUD$60 for EACH CALL. Now I know this is an int'l hotel and calls from int'l hotels are expensive but this is rediculous. I complained at the front desk, l told them to fix it or I won't be back but all they said was that the bill was correct. Now I made the same call from the Keio Plaza hotel in Tokyo the day before and it was only a few dollars so why such a huge difference between hotels I do not know but I do know that the Hilton Osaka rips off its guests if they decide to use the phone for an int'l call!.

The other issue was the queue for breakfast, I ended up leaving and coming down later, there was no queue but I stood at the desk for about 5 mins while the staff ignored me doing their own thing so I walked out, sure they came running out after me all apologetic but it was too late. (I highly rate the service and staff at this hotel but not at the breakfast desk on that day).

Anyway if anyone can rec. another good business hotel in Osaka I would be pleased to hear as its time for a change....really I am just totlaly miffed about that telephone bill, the hotel is actually very good.

“Standard Hilton nothing special but nice”

Hilton Osaka

Jul 20, 2008

This is a Hilton and really I don't really need to say much about the facilties within the hotel as it is standard.

The location of this hotel is excellent - surrounded by designer shops, authentic Japanese restaurants and Japanese department stores

The customer service is excellent within the hotel and all the staff speak English and were extremely friendly and welcoming

The breakfast is very expensive 3000 - 3800 yen for a buffet breakfast; however, from my experience this is standard for Hilton breakfasts. There's a Starbuck's round the corner if you want something a little cheaper. There are also a number of convinience stores (AM PM and Family Mart) within walking distance

The one complaint I have is the beds...I'm not sure if it was just mine or if all beds are the same but mine was extremely hard was like sleeping on concrete. My shoulder is now out of place becuase the bed was so hard.

There was a range of television stations available including two stations (other than news stations) that were English language stations.

The top floor has a beautiful bar and even if your not a drinker it's worth going up there to have a look as there are great views of the city.

Not much more I can say really, like I said it's a standard Hilton, nothing special but comfortable to stay in (apart from the beds).

“We loved it!”

Hilton Osaka

Stayed here for 5 nights end of May and we loved it. Brilliantly located in a supurb area. The Osaka Station is right across the road and we found it easily having caught a train from the airport. The room was very comfortable and not small - I would say its just your average hotel room size, it was a wonderful room to come back to at the end of a busy day exploring. The air con was quiet, loved the 'curtains' and had absolutely no complaints with regards service. The staff were all brilliant and very efficient. Had a few cocktails in the WIndow of the World bar on top floor - beautiful but expensive, but worthwhile to do it once. We had a continental breakfast a few times in our room and were never disapointed. Loved the 'do not disturb' buttons that you pressed and a sign appeared next to your door. The room was well soundproofed and despite sleeping late one morning we heard nothing - hence why we slept so long! We loved the lobby, the location, felt completely safe the area is not Namba but its lively and there are plently of places to eat particularly within the station itself! A lovely time was had by all! We would definatly stay here again.

“Excellent Hotel, Small rooms”

Hilton Osaka

May 30, 2008

I stayed at the Hilton Osaka for 4 days in mid May. Having lived in Osaka for a few years I knew that the Osaka Hilton had an unbeatable location and an impeccible reputation, but I had never had the opportunity to stay there. As I expected the service was second to none and the facilities were very well maintained. The Hilton hotels in Asia tend to be much nicer than the those in North America and Europe. My only complaint is that the rooms are small. I know this is to be expected in Japan, but it was smaller than the rooms in many other hotels in Japan. If you look at the tower from outside you can tell that the rooms must be small because the tower is so narrow. I never thought about it until after I stayed there. Although the room size was a small inconvenience for me because I had a sick family member who spent the whole time in the room, the location of the hotel, the outstanding breakfast buffet and service of the staff more than made up for it.

Hilton Osaka

Somerville, MA

The Hilton Osaka has a lot going for it. Beginning with very convenient access to JR Osaka terminal - one of the main transit hubs in Osaka. From there, you can go anywhere in the country. It is also in the center of shopping, dining and entertainment. The staff is very pleasant and exhibit the politeness that the Japanese are famous for. Whenever I went to the front desk for assistance, I was greeted and attended to immediately. It is obvious that prompt courteous service is something that they strive for. They have a very nice fitness center (there is a daily charge to use it) and a business center with internet access (also with a charge). My room was very clean, large and comfortable. All in all, the Hilton Osaka made a nice trip even nicer.
