The hostel is so impressed, lovely front desk service. Shared bathroom are clean. They don't have much space but every corner is designed. They've got wifi only in living room but it's nice place to take some rest even meet&talk.

We stayed in Hostel 64 for 3 nights and loved every minute. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the transport system. The lobby and dorms had a awesome vibe and we loved the coffee and breakfast.

Also, we were fortunate enough to meet some great people and make some awesome friends. I would recommend to anyone!!! The hostel is not in the greatest area but literally a couple of stops away from the action on the super easy subway!

Hostel 64 we love you and hope to visit again soon!!!!

I stayed here for two nights on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed three years ago and it did not disappoint! The dorm beds were big and comfortable and the screens gave the illusion of 'private' space. The lobby and lounge area are eclectically furnished and there is good attention to design throughout the hostel. The neighbourhood is quiet, yet it is only about 15 minutes walk from everything.

Hostel 64 is a great value place to stay- really nicely designed with great retro pieces, interesting books to read in the lounge area and lovely staff members.
Its not far to the subway to get around Osaka. The Explore Osaka booklet available at the Hostel has some good descriptions of areas to visit and everyone working at the hostel was really helpful providing recommendations for things to do.
Breakfast there is a nice way to start the day- good coffee available. There are some nice cafes and bars in the immediate area.
If you are into beautiful Japanese contemporary creamics and design ask the staff for the location of HS store- you will never find it otherwise!
The staff do provide ear plugs and this is for a reason!!!! We had a private room on the third floor, it is close to the communal areas and other hostel visitors came home pretty late and used the area. Its noisy and this is the only downside of staying here. Even in a private room the noise from other rooms is considerable . If you happen to be there at the same time as travellers who may not be particulalry considerate of others it can be a bit exasperating.

Here's the first place we had chosen on the first date in Osaka for 2 nights and our flight was quite late around 1.30 AM (Normally,CHK-IN will be closed around 11.00 PM) but they was keep waiting until we'd checked in already! we're really really felt so grateful for this matter and they allowed us for left our luggages during we're staying another city following day (We stayed in Kyoto 2 days and be back Osaka) The staffs there were soooooooooo kind and helpful. By the way,the dormitory area ,it was separated by thin curtain soyou could hear sounds of snoring in the next door! zzzZZZZZZZ

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We stayed at Hostel 64 in Osaka for 2 nights in June 2013. We stayed in a tatami mat room, where I expect all of the other rooms were of this set up as well. It was a good experience and the hostel represented good value at about 6,000 JPY and 8,000 JPY (weekend rate) per night -- not cheap, but I think fair for Osaka / Japan. The room and facilities (common living room, bathrooms, shower) where in good condition and clean. Each shower room was set-up differently where one had a Japanese tatami tub, another a Panasonic sit down contraption, etc. where it was fun to try different shower rooms.

There was internet only available in the main living room, no internet signal in the rooms. They were working on installing a higher power wireless router while we were there. The main living room was a comfortable place to relax in the morning and evenings as there were many comfortable seats and books to browse/read. There was a large wall calendar of city events info for the month which would have been useful if we had more time to stay in Osaka.

The Hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood, about halfway (5 minutes walk each way) between two different subway lines -- so the location was convenient. Good value and tasty breakfast at 300 JPY, and additional 200 JPY for coffee.

Ms. Jun and Naomi were both very helpful and friendly during our stay -- which made the overall visit memorable. Jun helped us to recommend restaurants and sightseeing, and accommodated a special request to make dinner reservations for us while we were outside.

I would stay there again the next time in Osaka.

Have stay here for three nights. The room and bath area are simple and clean. The soundproofing between each room is that good since some of wall are paper.
The living area is really nice with relax atmosphere and provide a lot of event info. The staff are really friendly and helpful, always keep smile with us.
They have bike rental service with really good condition bike. That's definitely the best way to go around and experience Osaka.
