“Fantastic Location - low price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2011

If not mega central - quiet a good location in Osaka to roam around this quirky megapolis. The main reception person (Yasuda shogo) was really friendly and the place had good proximity to two stations and many shops !

Everything you could want from a buget hotel, and at the price of dorms elsewhere. Clean room with a fridge tv, aircon. Staff were very helpful. The area is a bit dodgy but very close to train station.

I reserved for 1 night at Hotel Chuo Oasis in Osaka last September. I remember it was very clean, and the hotel staff were very friendly. I did not speak any Japanese at the time, but had a friend who did speak Japanese helping me check in, and after my friend had left, they were patient with my broken Japanese and spoke a bit of English.

The location was a little hard to find, and possibly even very confusing for first timers who spoke little to no Japanese, as it was located in a smaller alley way of downtown Osaka (near the 'zoo' station, or Doubutsuenmae Station, via the underground subway or Chikatetsu in Japanese).

The rooms were very clean albeit also very small. But the staff were quick to reply with my requests via email after my reservation. I asked specifically for the female-only floor, and that is exactly what I got, with no problems.

There was also free internet cable available in the room for those with their own laptops, or public (free) internet access in the lobby. The size of the flat screen TV was also somewhat a small pleasant surprise.

All in all, excellent service and a good value.

This was my first trip with my friends and I regret staying at Hotel Chuo Oasis. My friends and I stayed in room 407, a dormitory style room with two bunk beds for 4 people. That night, we woke up and found bugs crawling on our beds and the walls. We left the hostel the next day, but bug bites appeared on our arms, legs, and backs. There were 39 bites on my left arm alone. I did some research to figure out what kind of bugs bit us, and found a picture that matched the bugs I saw in the room... and they were definitely BED BUGS! I would not stay in this hostel again.

I stayed at the hotel chuo oasis for seven nights in July during a trip around japan. When searching for a hotel to use as a base for sightseeing in Osaka and the surrounding areas I was happy to come across the chuo oasis a hotel that offered cheap private rooms with an ensuite bathroom. The hotel is located within a few minutes walking distance from the jr shin imamiya station. The hotel is a little far from central Osaka though ( 20 minutes by train). The area is Ok but not great there is a family mart and a 100y shop but the hotel is located on a street with quite a few homeless and although they caused no trouble it didn't exactly make for the most pleasent first impression. But with those aside I enjoyed
My stay at this hotel very much. The rooms were clean and had self catering facilities and a flat screen television. The hotel lobby has free wifi and free to use computers and also has some guidebooks on Osaka and japan if you need them. The staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful. I found this to be a great place to stay and if you are looking for a budget hotel in Osaka I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Staff were very nice and extremely polite but not great at speaking english.
Kitchen area is only good for toast really and there are no plates or cups or anything.
Great location, near lots of REALLY good restaurants and there are convenience stores near also.
Bathroom was amazing, as had an extremely powerful shower.
Very clean hotel, but your room is not cleaned during your stay, even in a dorm room.
They give you a bag when you check in with slippers, a robe and bedding.

We stayed in a twin room. It was a very bright and clean room. The english-speaking staff was friendly. Room service is on request, and fresh towels also has to be requested. We were disappointed that there was no kettle in the room, but there is a shared kitchen and hot water.

The best part of chuo oasis was how spacious the rooms were. The suburb is a bit dead, but there's a 100 yen store and convenient store nearby (which you can also get 10% cashback from the hotel).

Although not much is happening in Shin-Imamiya, it is a JR station (which is great if you got the JR pass) and it is within 25 minutes of most things to do in Osaka.
