We chose this hotel because of its very strategic location: Literally right next door of OCAT so taking the Airport Limo Bus was convenient even with lots of luggage. Just take the escalator/elevator down, walk out the north entrance, and turn right. So choose the bus, it's a no brainer vs. the Nankai line (which is a long walk away).
To put things to perspective in relation to the train lines - JR Namba, Sennichimae, Yotsubashi, Hanshin, and Kintetsu Lines are very close and within 3-5 minutes walk, which make day trips to Kobe (Sannomiya) and Nara is almost effortless, while the Midosuji and Nankai Lines are farther at around 10 minutes walk.
Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi-Suji are around 15 minutes away.
All lines can be reached thru the underground walkway called "Namba Walk", filled with restaurants and various shops. The Life Supermarket on the basement level is a huge advantage. We got some of our meals and refreshments there, plus it closes late a night (one time I went down at 11pm, I found this noteable because most restos and shops around Osaka closed by 9pm). Also, check out the Daiki shop in the first level for some home and electronic items.
The hotel double rooms are adequately sized and functionally designed. We didn't feel it was cramped at all. The outer room views are great (wish the windows were a bit bigger though)! The air ionizer was a plus to keep the air fresh inside the room. Everyday our room was made up. The hotel itself is well decorated and everything is pleasing to the eyes with intricate details.
The staff were all nice in general, check-in and check-out was fast. We didn't experience any serious problems communicating in English.
Some observations: 1) There's not much to do within the hotel property unless you're getting married or use the function rooms. 2) The church is very equisite, but it's generally off limits and only opened during wedding ceremonies. 3) The female staff seemed more friendly and attentive to requests than the male staff (we experienced this in 2 occassions, nothing serious though). 4) Two traveling companions complained of itchiness that they attributed to the bed, however its hard to conclude this since I didn't experience the same, so could have been something else. 5) TV Channels were all in Japanese, except for BBC.
Overall, I recommend this to those who are on a Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe) trip because of its convenient location, very competitive price (scout around for the best price around hotel booking sites) and good hotel/room quality.
Double rooms face the east side, Twin rooms face north, based on the outline I saw.
