“Location outstanding”

Tips: If you're coming from JR Osaka station, transfer to the red subway, the Midosuji line thats red. Go to namba station. From the kansai airport, get on the nankai line and get off at nankai namba. Namba is quite big and getting to one side to another takes a while. Point is, look for exit number 14. When you get off, you can easily follow a map you printed beforehand. Meaning turn left and walk through the covered shopping street. When it finishes, turn right after the big crab restaurant! It's not hard to find.

Hotel was clean and modern, had a tub, amenities and tea set.

There are lots of restaurants and shopping areas around. For example, The best ramen, ichiran, is a block away, along the river near don quihote. Have an early ramen breakfast round 9 or 10, noones gonna be around. After that lines get really long. The takoyaki shop beside was also yum.

For shabu or sukiyaki, just walk about 3 minutes in the direction of don quihote, and there is a restaurant Onyasai, great eat all you can for 2,600 ish at night. Ala carte also good. Anyway, food wont be a problem in the area.

This is supposed to be a three star hotel, but that rating should be upgraded! Spent three nights here after a cruise that ended at Kobe.
The facilities are excellent, though we did not sample their restaurant - simply because of the proximity of a huge variety of eating places in the area. This hotel is located in the heart of everything - close to metro stations, shopping and entertainment. It is also clean, rooms are spotless, and don't let your first impressions of the street get the better of you!
Would definitely recommend to any and all!

Recently stayed 5 nights there. The room was clean, tidy, spacious & comfortable.
The location is strategic-- center of the heart of everything: train stations, great restaurants, shopping complexes & etc.

WIFI is available at the lobby only, unless you purchase a Lan to WIFI router (~3500Yen) at big-camera nearby.

Definitely a good choice to stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Enjoy the great rate by advanced booking.

Recently stayed two nights before heading on a cruise out of Kobe and the location for my first Japanese visit was perfect. The location was ideal for experiencing the night life and the day time activites too. The subway station was a short walk from the front door. The best bet is to get the Rap'it Express train from the airport to the "Namba" station and then catch a cab for a mere $6 US to the hotel. (Be sure to have Yen).
The rooms, however small by western standards, were fully equipped. The bathroom had many upgraded amenities including heated seat and luxurious tolietries. The staff spoke English and very accomodating. Definitely my first choice when I return visit!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on upper floors as the nightlife can go on to the early AM.

LOCATION: If you're a tourist or on holiday in Osaka, then the location is great, especially if you plan to go out at night. The street may seem a little seedy at first, but it's completely harmless and unobtrusive (the hawkers aren't aggressive and seem focussed on the domestic market), and offers a refreshing contrast if you use Osaka as a base to travel to Kyoto by day. Namba station is a short walk away.

FACILITIES: Competitively priced, reasonable sized clean rooms, with well appointed bathroom. Reception area was light and airy, making a pleasant change from the claustrophobia and endless neon and sound of Dotonbori.

One drawback was that despite being placed in the entertainment district, and clearly catering for plenty of young people in town for the weekend, the main entry of the hotel was locked from a fairly early time, with reception staff completely ignoring anyone waiting there in the rain. This policy might be understandable in light of the volume of people milling about on the street, but the management should make it clear to their guests that there is an additional 'hidden' side entrance that can still be used. We made the reception staff respond, but there were plenty of soaked, waiting Asian guests who were just resigned to not getting in until the morning, having already paid for a room.

Overall, I would recommend the Vista Grande as a fairly well priced, comfortable hotel that is perfectly located for anyone looking to sample the food and nightlife of the surrounding entertainment area of Osaka.

This is a perfect hotel for those looking for something more western. The rooms are very clean and spacious in Japanese standards. The location was very central, right near the hustle and bustle of lots of restaurants, bars, shops. It is located in the red light district but I didn't feel at all unsafe here at night. There are plenty of people hanging around. For those keen to try Karaoke there is a place next door or plenty of others to choose from down the road.

This was our last hotel during our 2 weeks in Japan and it was a great ending. It is located in the girly bar street, one street parallel to Dotonbori (2 min walk away for great takoyaki, okonomiyaki and other Osakan fare) and only 5 mins from the nearest Namba station exit. The area gets very busy at night as it's a shopping (world's largest H&M only 3 mins away) and dining area so if you like that, this is a great location. Some reviewers have mentioned feeling uncomfortable in the area but it's not that bad and street hustlers don't seem to hassle foreigners too much. I was in bed by 11pm so we didn't get to see much anyway but perhaps with children, it may feel more uncomfortable. There is a huge Donki (24hrs) 1 min away and a million dining choices on your doorstep.

The rooms are decorated nicely and modern with big bathrooms and foreign TV channels and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom has good amenities and mirror does not fog up during showers. There is room service although a little pricey and it is probably better to eat nearby anyway. Reception service is great and all staff we encountered spoke English.

I would absolutely stay here again as I enjoyed being in Dotonbori and the rooms were great. Booking through their hotel website was cheap and easy. One downfall is there's only wifi in the lobby but as it was only a one night stay, it did not bother me. If you want to be smack bang in the middle of it all, don't hesitate to stay here.

Room Tip: Try to get a room higher up as we faced an ugly building.
