“Rooms OK, everything else is meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

This is some kind of funky wedding hotel in Osaka. There is a chapel and everything.
As always this is about expectations: we were expecting better than a 3 star hotel...

Pros:
-Nice clean rooms
-Nice lobby
-Friendly enough staff

Cons:
-Plastic bathrooms found in much cheaper hotels also found here
-View of the freeway
-Breakfast....ouch... dirty tables and very limited (western) selection. Cold water was empty both days we ate there (it´s not that hard to check it...)
-No Wifi

This was my first time at this hotel. Whenever I'm in Japan, I prefer to stay in a place with an onsen. I chose this place as its top floor (14th fl) was advertised to be all onsen facility.
It did not disappoint.
There were several tubs to choose from, but the outdoor one was a real treat in mid winter.
The hotel appears to be brand new. Its amenities are somewhere between "business hotel" and full service hotel.
The rooms are somewhat spartan, but vey efficiently designed.

The only negatives are that it's not so close to Osaka station (two transfers via subway or 1300 yen cab ride), and that I had a room facing the highway and I could hear the cars going by.

I will never forgett this hotel, this was amazing experience..

We went from Tokyo to Osaka on a business trip and had to stay in this hotel. After taking bullet trainn then local train and taxi we reached this hotel who was near some residientatial and business hub. The facilities and hospitality as usually in japan you find was mind blowing

Rooms had all aminities and good food to experience for. The buffet breakfast had lot of variety both in Veg and Non Veg

The most wonderful experience was the Spa...which is once you will go can experience that too Free of cost...go and have fun I am sure you will enjoy

Room Tip: Room on top floors as you can see city view

nice hotel, very big, loved the location, very central, the staff is very nice and helpful, the rooms are nice, a little small but they are ok, the restaurant in the 14th floor is very good too.
wanted to try the spa, but if you have any tattoo you cant enter the spa, so there's that.

Stayed here recently for 2 nights over the weekend. Booked a semi double room thru the hotel website for Y9450 for sat night and Y8400 for sun night. This is excellent value for money ! City Plaza Osaka is a modern hotel with all comfort one can expect from a 4 star hotel.
Room is small and compact with a small double bed which is suitable for asian couple. We find it a snug to share a small bed but its okay for us. The room has a big window and this help brighten up the small compact room. I find the room very clean and comfortable.
Room has LCD TV, fridge with free mineral water, water boiler with free tea, hairdryer, a humidifier, and even a massage chair ! Pajamas and slippers are provided too. Bathroom is big in relation to the size of the room and toiletries are provided too.
Location wise is okay as you are a short subway ride from the bustling namba area. There arent many dining options around the hotel, so we ended up going to namba for food every night.
The best thing about this hotel is the spa on the top floor which is free to hotel guests. Every night we find ourself at the spa, soaking in the outdoor pool.....so blissful !
For the money we paid, this is an excellent hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay here. Love the spa here !

Room Tip: Book a normal double room if you are want a bigger bed. Semi double has small bed, suitable for asia...

As others have mentioned. The hotel's location is a 5 to 10 mins walk to the subway station. I just want to add that it's also a doable 20 mins walk to Osaka Castle with several nice eateries along the way.
