“Great hotel in Osaka”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Great hotel with very good installations.

Big size rooms with a wide open space toilet. Clean, free wi-fi access and new hotel. The team of the hotel speaks English without problems.

Near of it you can find a metro station to go Dountonbori and the rest of the main places in Osaka.
Also, there is some restaurants around in which you can have some nice lunch or dinner.

This was the cleanest and most modern hotel that we stayed at for our entire trip. Although it was situated in the business district, slightly outside the main tourist district of Shinsaibashi/Dotonbori, we definitely thought it was worth it for the price that we paid. We wouldn't recommend this place if you are only staying overnight because it takes about a day of train travelling to get used to the route. The shower was amazing, with a strong and large ceiling type showerhead. There was a laundry mat on one of the floors so we did a big wash when we stayed there.

The hotel is only 15meters away from exit 5 of Kitahama subway station. The only confusing thing was that Kitahama suburb has two train stations - one ran by JR and the other was a local line. The local line was the one closer to the hotel but you could also go to the main Kitahama station but the walk was further and you will need to get out a map. It'll take you about 5-10minutes to get from Kitahama station to Namba station where all the tourist attractions are.

The staff don't speak too much english but enough to get by. They had train maps and routes on how to get to the airport and since it was only 15meters away from the station, we didn't need to hire a taxi to get to the airport even with 4 suitcases between two people.

We booked this hotel back in November 2011 for 5 days. Osaka was the final part of our trip to Japan. We traveled here after visiting Tokyo and Hakone. Osaka is a wonderful city with plenty to discover each day. Thing to do/see: A boat ride around the city, lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe- 15 minute walk. There are several delicious restaurants in the area to visit and some stay open past midnight for a late night snack or something to drink. The hotel itself sits in a good location, close to everything. In fact, we walked to most places. There is a train depot right up the street from the hotel (3 minute walk). You also have a 711 right across the street. Front desk staff were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and things to do. They have a computer area in the lobby for guests to get on the internet. The rooms are on the small size (this is Japan), but nicely decorated and you have room to move around. Japan was one of our favorite vacation spots and Osaka did its part to make that happen. We would stay here again. Overall rating 3.5.

Room Tip: Book a superior double for a little more room. It does help.

Chose the hotel as stopover to kyoto. Prices were extreme on saturdays and during sakura season. However, the hotel still have reasonable rates despite peak season. Arrived around 9 am at the hotel. Couldn't check in yet to the room as the hotel maintains strict policy of 3pm check in time. Left the luggage and wander around the city area.
Kitahama station is one block away from the hotel. Two convenience store is opposite the road and a supermarket is located in the same building as the subway station. Great options to get local groceries. Room size were not the largest but adequate size as the beds were pushed to the wall. However, getting from the subway station to the hotel may be a bit difficult when u have large luggages as you have to walk up the stairs.
Overall, great exprience with the hotel. Recommended if its around your budget

Great hotel in a nice location. We had the superior double room which was very nicely decorated, modern. It was short walk to the train station and there were convenience stores nearby. Overall very pleasant stay, good value and would definitely stay again.

Given the price we paid, the Hotel Brighton City was incredibly good value. In a quiet area of central Osaka, a few steps away from Kitahama station (and about 10 mins from Yodoyabashi station via the underpass - great for Umeda) and opposite a convenience store, the location was perfect for us.

Inside the hotel, rooms and decor and modern, stylish, clean and comfortable - and the biggest of all the hotels we stayed in whilst in Japan. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The 'room service' menu, which consisted of a delivery by a local okonomiyaki place, was also great.

Overall, much better than we had expected at this price and very highly recommended!

We stayed with a toddler (nearly 2 years). It was a bit of a tight squeeze with the cot but it was still comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is more of a business hotel in the business district but this means it is quiet (good when you have a toddler!). Easy access via the train anywhere and the Keihan line takes you direct to Kuromon Market or alternatively you can take the train all the way to Kyoto from there too. Kitahama on the Keihan line station is the closest but we arrived at Yodoyabashi which is still only 10min or less walk away, when coming from the airport. There is a 7-Eleven across the street but also a market in the basement of Kitahama building (where the train station is). If you want to stay up all night at the bars in Amerikamura you may want to stay closer downtown but otherwise this is really good value for money.
