a must stay, all amenities are clean, and convenient, plus showers, sauna, hot tubs, and internet available is a good deal for your money, my wife stayed on the women section of the hotel, i stayed on the mens and it worked pretty good, safe and convenient to move around town.

We stayed here for 1 night for the experience and our first hotel in Japan. It was great fun and exciting. Our "room" was in the basement and it felt a bit like a dungeon at first. Afterwards it was very cosy. the capsules was in the sleep area where you cant make any noisy. The common area however was great, had all the facilities you needed, dressing room and shared bathing area. There are no partitions or cubicals. There is nowhere to night!!!!

The location was fantastic. Namba station and Namba food district is just 5 minutes walk away. Or within the small streets around the hotel there are many intersting eateries to try.

Overall and very clean place to stay. Much much better than some hostels/2star hotels i've stayed in in europe in the past!!

Pros: cheap, good location, almost no need for reservation, nice japanese bath and sauna.

Cons: cheap, these people are like Ferengi (see star trek...): they try to make a buck or two for any extra and this gets annoying. Want an extra pillow (I really need it for my comfort)? That will be an extra 200 yens. Want to go to the toilet after checking out? Sorry can't do. It gets annoying. One big con: SMOKING allowed everywhere (other than in the capsules themselves, thank god!), if you want to enjoy some relaxation in some of the rooms for that you have to go through 20+ japanese men smoking, arg!

My idea was to try a capsule hotel once (you should do it!) but I will likely not do it again.

Never stayed at a capsule hotel before, and my friend and I figured it was worth a try, both for novelty and for a chance to save a few bucks.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this capsule hotel. The capsules themselves are roomier than I expected (not that it matters; you really just sleep in there). They are kept extremely clean and the areas where they are also seemed tidy and quiet. You also get a robe ensemble which is more like pajamas, and you lock up all your stuff and walk around in that outfit. Definitely a fun and different experience.

What was surprised me the most was the quality of the facility itself. There was a room to relax and watch tv, another room to sit and eat from their cafe (we played cards and drank $3 tallboys of Kirin before we went out for the night), and a pretty elaborate bath area, with 3 different hot tubs, a sauna, and a shower area. It all felt clean and efficient.

I needed a place to stay for one night in Osaka. Combined with wanting the expirience of a capsule hotel, this was my choice. Finding the place was a bit difficult since the building is quite unremarkable. It's close to several stations, which was convenient since we used different train operators.

Men and women are on separate floors with the only meetings points being at the entrace and the first floor. This is something to keep in mind if you're a mixed group/couple.
The capsule hotel had all services you find in the larger hotels: showers, baths, washing machines, free internet (only on basement floors), ...
The capsules themselfs were larger than I expected, but they're not big by any standards. They provided a good night's sleep and that was all that we required.

I wouldn't recommend staying for more than a couple of days since you have to put all your luggage in a (relatively small) locker, which is separate from the capsules. You're not allowed to keep luggage in the capsule either.

There's a small restaurant on the first floor. I assume thath both dinner and breakfast are available, but we only had breakfast since we arrived quite late.

The staff speaks only basic English, so knowing some Japanese will smoothen the expirience.

Overall, I would recommand this

We chosen this capsule hotel just simply for experience and we had had enough. We stayed in a private room with 4 capsule beds and small living room. The building is very old. Floor is covered by carpet with lots of stains and dusty and smelly. Public bathroom is very dirty. The hotel is stuffy. No air flow at all. We didnt surprise when we saw a fan provided for us. We certainly need it ! Besides, they charge money for everything. We came in early and wanted to leave luggage with them and they charged us 200 yen each. There is a lot of steps before we can get into the room. We needed to put shoes in locker at front reception and then traded shoe locker key for room keys. There are four of us but only two were given room keys so we must stick together in pair. Elevator can access only 1st and 2nd floors while our room is on 3rd and bathrooms are on B1 and B2. It was frustrated when we had to drag our huge luggage up/down through stairs. Room rate is somewhat expensive comparing to normal hotels.

The hotel is clean, located right in a nightlife district. The capsules are not hat small and have amenities like TV's and a very weak Air conditioner. Sound insulation is not good. If someone snores you will hear it.
