The hotel is in a pleasant quiet area of the city, just across the splendid Sanjusangen-do Temple. The room (twin, 28 sqm) was clean and nicely decorated. Staff was efficient, as nearly everywhere in beautiful Japan. However, as another reviewer, I expected a Hyatt hotel to have soundproof walls and not hear fellow hotel guests using their bathroom.
Internet is expensive in the room but you can walk to the lobby to use the free wifi, which I never did after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel lobby does have a beautiful ceiling as shown on its website but it had a conference centre feel when walking from the reception to the elevators. I only had one dinner meal in the hotel. The French food was ok (better than in a lot of restaurants in Paris) but not exceptional for Japanese standards. Desserts were excellent.
