“Well placed Hotel, close to the main train station & a big shopping mall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Very wellplaced Hotel. Central to almost all your needs & only a stone throw away from a very big shopping mall & a BicCamera shop if you are into thos kind of things.
The Hotel is family friendly & can can get rooms with inter connecting doors . Very well sized rooms & bed No.3 can go inn quite easy.
All facilities are working well & it seems to be a very well maintained hotel.
3 breakfast possibilities! Choose vice! Not all of them can seat you at once. WEstern / Japanese one seems to be the biggest & most effective one! Remember it if you are playing tourist. Be early, as everyone else want's to have breakfast at the same time!

Room Tip: ASk for interconnecting doors between the rooms in advance if you are a family. Well maintained ro...

A very well located hotel in Kyoto, New Miyako is just minutes easy walk to the various train stations. Food and shopping is available from the station malls to the Aeon Mall just beside the hotel.

Our double bed room is on the main building premium floor. With some previous experience of normal Japan hotels, I was not surprised by the small size of the room and toilet (even though it is a premium room). Size is slightly better than standard rooms in HK. Bed was comfortable and cleanliness of the room was considerably clean to my OCD standards. The hotel had even provided a Sharp plasmacluster air ioniser in the room.

Note: The room is not totally friendly for wheelchair bound guests as the room toilet is raised on a platform. In addition, there's no safe in the room.

Room Tip: Rooms on top level and facing away from the train station might be preferred.

Very tired hotel. A tiny room and the smallest bathroom I think I've ever seen. Made sure the toilet seat was down, in case the towels fell in. No choice of having make up and/or toiletries in the bathroom. It was pretty grubby as well, and I had to ask for it to be cleaned.
Handy to train station.
Glad we only stayed one night

It is well-located at nearby the train station, just a 5 to 10 minutes easy walk. I have stayed 3 times in this hotel over 10 years. The only reason is value for money and good location.

The room is relatively old and even you stay at their premium floor, for example, they don't have s safe in room. It is small but not as tiny as one in Osaka, so you should survive with your suitcase. Pls don't expect the services will be something like other hotels. They are okay but not as friendly as others, the likely reason is under-staff.

With a good price and good location, I think it is a good choice if you are not staying at your hotel for the whole day.

After we arrived at Kansai International Airport, we took the Haruka Express from the station next to the airport. The 75-min ride took us to the Kyoto JR station where we just walked across the street to the hotel. It was that easy and convenient. We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and enjoyed the warm hospitality. The room rates include breakfast at any of its 3 restaurants, serving Japanese and western fare We found the bed a bit hard; the hotel put in several layers to soften it and were very prompt in addressing this matter. A Japanese friend who stayed in the hotle also remarked that the hotel was value for money.

Room Tip: Away from the front entrance that faces the main road

Brought my English speaking family to Kyoto for the first time. Very welcoming and accommodating hotel. Excellent English among staff members. Typical high Japanese standards in customer service. Had a large twin room with three beds which was sufficient space for 2 adults and 2 children.

This is a large hotel, offering full service.. Good English among most of the crew. Currency exchange offered on location. Four or five restaurants in the building, shopping mall in the lowest level, below the reception. The Kyoto train station is just across the street but we did not hear any additional noise from there. Rooms were nice, large and clean. Would stay again.
