The rooms may be quite small, as well as the common area, but they convey a feeling of calm. The rooms have very big lockers, you can fit a big bagpack in it with no problem. The common area, with its japenese style room (tatami and low tables) is a perfect spot to debrief with other backpackers. The staff is always helpful if you need information, or just a nice chat over Japan or the city of Kyoto. Free coffee, tea and even sake are a plus, as well as the bathroom with bath, a perfect way to decontract after a full day walking between the many wonderful temples of the city.
