If you're ever lost like how we were on the first day, ask which hostel has a dog and the directions should send you to Hostel Mundo.
My friends and I really enjoyed staying in Hostel Mundo. It's close to bus stops that took us around Kyoto like Ginkakuji, Gion, and Heian Jinja. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Yuya-san, the owner, and he'll be more than happy to ask.
The facilities were excellent; my friends and I loved our sleeping arrangements, and the beds and futons were very warm and comfy. There's also a small kitchenette where we had our meals while sitting next to the heater waiting for the shower to be free.
Note that there is only 2 toilets, one urinal, and one shower, so you'll need to take turns when showering. The walk to the toilet can be really cold at night in early spring, so make sure you wear socks before stepping out. Share the shower. There's a small whiteboard next to the shower door, so write your name down and take turns.
Besides the limited facilities (which I could live with), everything else about Hostel Mundo was excellent!
