Super staff. Super location and tidiest rooms ever seen. Well equipped with all kind of kitchen utensils. Plenty of restaurants around and bus and Metro just in front of the door. I would definetely stay there again!
BTW I love the trendy entrance!!

Definately a great choice of accomodation in Kyoto. We stayed with our 1 year old and all had a lovely time. You can't beat this place for cleanliness, style, location, comfort and price!

The only thing we would add would be that it would be good to have free wireless in the rooms. Although they have it in the foyer. And that strangely you need to purchase washing up liquid dispite it being an apartment supplied with everything else. Tip - buy it from the 7/11 across the road.

As every other reviewer, my wife and I loved this place. It's an apart-hotel, but the quality is top notch and with great value for money. Easily accessible from Kyoto station, within walking distance (if you go to Kyoto, you must walk) to Gion, Shopping district and even Nijo-jo if you can. This was our second time in Kyoto and we loved it. Our room, was the size of a Junior suite in Europe and definitely larger than ANY typical Japanese hotel. Their breakfast was the only area I would recommend improvement, but then, anywhere in Japan, the options are endless outside.
Good restaurant options nearby, great accessibility (Metro and buses) and friendly, English-speaking staff.
Highly recommended

It is a service apartment, everything is quite new, very helpful staff with excellent English, location is the best, it's not very far from the big train station, you can walk for 15min or by bus, we found out the best way to go around Kyoto is by bus, bus stops are just steps away and very convenient, staff in lobby has bus info on small fliers, and buses are very good time wise. Room was very clean and spacious, quiet and comfortable, convenient store is right across the street. Subway is next to the hotel too, you can even rent a bike in nearby shops. We were very glad to find this gem thanking to the reviewers, and we definitely will stay here again next time.

Three night stay in room 214, twin beds, with kitchenette facilties. Good decent size, modern, comfortable room. Pleasant environment. Great place to stay in Kyoto. Excellent location, well positioned for sightseeing.

The staff are fantastic, extremely helpful, professional and enthusiastic. The staff have an invaluable amount of knowledge about Kyoto and the surrounding area, and were more than happy to answer all the point of interest questions that I had. They provided some excellent suggestions.

A memorable stay, highly recommened, a real home away from home!

I hope to return soon!

Following our first stay at Citadines Kyoto Karasuma Gojo of last December, we have already booked our next stay at the same for next month. I have to date stayed in Kyoto Westin Miyako, Nikko Princess,Hotel Okura.

And I like this Citadines Kyoto much more than the other Citadines I experienced many years ago in Paris, France: Palais Royal and Saint Germain des Pres. PR was getting old and tired. SGP was smelly as too new, both with rather cheapy furniture.

The location of Karasuma Gojo suited us most. It is convenient for eating out and shopping. Enjoyed nice strolls to reach Shijo Karasuma and Kawaramachi, the busiest part of Kyoto (5-10min.walk). Also enjoyed longer walks up to Gion and Ishibei Koji our favourite streets. Like in Paris, it is not exhausting but just pleasant to walk around amongst the low rise buildings and old houses in the central Kyoto. In this way, we found and enjoyed a number of charming cafes and restaurants of Machiya style (old style residential house) around the hotel.

The hotel building, exterior and interior, is contemporary and stylish. The reception area is small and dark (could be brighter in my opinion). The front desk was attended by two or three and served also as concierge.

Contrary to the reception area, our studio room was bright and white. A Queen (King?) size bed with comfortable mattress. A small writing desk. A sofa, a chair and a dining/bed side table. The bathroom was tiny. A separate wash basin in the main part of the room.

And a kitchenette! (very small), which made me to go for this Citadines Karasuma Gojo this time. Every time I came to Kyoto, I found a pity not to be able to enjoy fresh beautiful food from Nishiki Market. This time however, although we did not cook anything serious, we enjoyed for instance lightly pan grilled Moroko from Biwa Lake (like perche from Leman Lake in Geneva, but more savory and priced accordingly) and it was indeed a great pleasure.

Mineral water offered in the room is of good quality, which they use when making the famous Sake (rice wine) of Kyoto Fushimi.

Everything was new and very clean.
In-room broadband internet access available, free of charge.
For a long stay, storage space could be limited.

I was prepared for some noise from the road in front, Gojo Avenue. Except I heard some bike noise at midnight a couple of times, nothing disturbed me. No noise from next doors. The room was effectively sound proof, except for the corridor side.

We booked a special plan for Christmas period and the hotel gave us a gift of SPA products, made with Sake of Kyoto Fushimi. Loved them! Especially the bath additive (liquid, Kizakura Sakeburo) was so good to warm up body after sightseeing in such cold weather.
