This is an apartment hotel Moore than anything else. Small rooms with a kitchenette. No real reception, but caretaker seems to live in the building. A neighbour swiftly summoned her when I arrived,I got a key card for the room and info on where to wash clothes if needed, clean room with balcony, small bathroom, water kettle tv and very fast wired Internet. Wifi wa also available, but I had my airport so I did not need it. It takes 20 min to walk to underground station Kitaoji, but the bus no 8 and 1 takes you there and they stop outside the door. Also there is a nice coffee shop just outside the hotel, serves what they call a "morning set" breakfast with a small salad or egg for around 500 yen.$6.20 £ 3.90 and that is bargain. Lots to see in the area, the lovely Botanical garden, and the famous Kinkaku temple, just 15 min on foot. Kitaoji seems to be a quiet neighbourhood, many restaurants, but certainly no hotspot for Kyoto nightlife,Moore residential. REALLY enjoyed visiting Kyoto. Green gables was for me..a middle aged woman travelling on my own, without need for luxury a perfect place to stay.
