The Hotel is located above the enormous Kyoto Central station and 'Cube' mall. The reception area was cool with pleasant modern decor, and all staff were very friendly and helpful; check-in was a breeze!
Our rooms on the 9th floor (one double, one twin) were comfortable. Both had great views across the South-West of Kyoto. The rooms were very well equipped (no need to bring any personal hygiene products with you as the bathroom contained them all) and the beds were very comfortable. Definitely rooms to stay in again in the future.
At breakfast, there was the option of traditional Japanese or Western styles. Both appeared to have plenty of choice and the buffet style meant that you could have as much as you wanted. The only drawback here, was that, in comparison to the size of the hotel, the restaurant was quite small, which meant a small wait on our second morning. The hotel had an indoor pool, but access to this, at ¥1000 (£6-7) per person per day, seemed a little steep and this put us off using it at all.
The big advantage of staying here is the location - adjacent to the train station is a great location to explore Kyoto and there is loads to do and see within easy travelling distance. The hotel itself is big, but not overwhelming, and suited our needs perfectly.
