My family and I visited Kyoto and stayed in Hotel Granvia Kyoto for 3 nights. Coming off from the Shinkansen (bullet train), the location of Hotel Granvia within the Kyoto Station is very convenient. We had 2 rooms - one with a king size bed and the other with a queen size bed. Both were clean, spacious, facilities were adequate and they have free wifi in the rooms. My family enjoyed visiting the complimentary Guest Lounge on the 15th floor, where they have real fruit juices and coffee is superb. The staff at the Guest Lounge were very helpful especially with our travel needs. One person who stood out was Shogo Kawabata, Asst. Chief Concierge in the Guest Lounge. Shogo was patient, a very good listener, friendly and helpful in answering all our questions about our cultural questions. Since we happen to be in Kyoto on a rainy day, he was able to recommend to us alternative travel plans that can be enjoyed indoors. All these, makes our Kyoto even more meaningful and enjoyable.
