We just returned from spending 2 weeks at the Chisun in Kobe while on a tourist visit. The hotel is an efficiently run "business" hotel located a short walk from the Kobe station. As a business hotel, it is moderately priced (we paid about $120 per night during the holiday time when prices tend to be higher) and does not offer the myriad of tourist/English speaking services that one expects in a much-higher-priced international hotel. But, it was quite servicable for us. The room with a queen size bed had room for little else. There was a desk and barely enough room to sit at it. No drawers to unpack our clothes but we made do.
Bathroom was also quite small. All this we expected in a middle of the road property in Japan. Staff was very helpful. There was a very good breakfast buffet in the lobby offering both western and Japanese breakfast for 9 dollars. There was also a 24 hour convenience store in the basement level. Location was also very good--close to train station, close to a large super market, and close to a Denny's type hotel.
We would stay there again
