My Mother, Sister and I stayed here for three nights during our recent stay in Japan, and it was our favourite hotel. After long flights (we came from different countries) we met at the airport and took the three hour bullet train to Kobe. We were so exhausted when we arrived at the station, and so were extremely happy to see that the ANA Crowne Plaza is located directly across from the station - we only had to lug our suitcases 5 minutes! Phew.
Upon arrival the service was impeccable and it was maintained for the whole stay. We were greeted and they took our luggage, we were checked in quickly and felt truly welcome - English was not a problem at all. Then were guided to our room - on the 27th floor with views of the Rokko Mountain and the beautiful Kobe Harbour. The weather we had was also brilliant so we had sweeping day and night views.
The room was massive! WAY bigger than we were expecting, with three very big beds (one fold out), all very firm (just how I like them). The bathroom was separated with the sink fitted into a vanity outside with a gigantic mirror, and the bath and toilet inside. The cleaning staff also provided English newspapers, and replenished the coffee and tea daily.
It is a short (15 minute walk) from the main shopping and eating centres of Kobe - but it's a very pleasant walk, especially when you have indulged in one too many serves of gyoza, or had a piece of cake each for dessert!
The staff also offered helpful sightseeing and food suggestions, and just generally made the stay even more pleasant. We tried the cafe in the lobby and the bar for cocktail hour - both a bit pricey, but, you get what you pay for, and the food, drinks and service were impeccable at both.
I literally cannot do anything but gush about the ANA Crowne Plaza.
