Stayed at the Sheraton on Rokko Island while on a house hunting trip to Japan. The service was incredible, concierge went way beyond the call of duty in providing information about Japn sights and public transportation. Good sized room with a king size bed - a luxury in Japan! The buffet was expensive, but other than McDonald's or Starbucks it's the only western breakfast you will find on the island.

My first impressions were very positive - it's a nice hotel and the service was good. This all changed when I went to have a quick swim before doing some sightseeing. I was told that even for hotel guests, that would be an extra 2000 Yen !!! That gets expensive if you like a swim twice a day. Not even the Park Hyatt Tokyo charges to use the pool & their pool is at least 10 times nicer. I won't stay at the Kobe Sheraton again - charging guests extra to use the hotel pool is very poor form.
