We stayed here for 1 night in May. We booked via Japanese Guesthouses website (good service)
This is a modern Ryokan, so don't stay here if you want a real Ryokan experience.
The pick-up/drop off service from the ferry was great. The room was large and had a great view towards the sea/Torii
We were disappointed to realise that we would be eating in the dining room, rather than our rooms. I don't think we had fully realised what the differences are with a modern vs traditional Ryokan. The food was great however. And the staff who attended us were very friendly.
Miyajima itself is a wonderful place. A highlight of our stay in Japan. It is well worth it to stay on the island a night to experience it without the hordes of sightseers.
Bear in mind that you should select a hotel/ryokan that serves dinner as most of the restaurants are lunch only.
