Although this place may not be your high end, attention to EVERY detail ryokan, this is an excellent stay for the price. We paid about AU$150 a night for the 2 of us (this is on the cheap side for a ryokan) but it was worth the money. The place is well looked after and the owners are very friendly and helpful. If you spend a day or 2 on the island you'll run out of things to do but you could easily stay in the peaceful surrounds of Rsosou Kawaguchi. As an added bonus it's in the small village so there are other inns and hotels that you can visit for drinks or a meal. Just beware of the roaming deer if you walk around with food. You'll have a shadow for the next 100m and chances are his buddies will join to make a congo line of deer behind you. The meals are nice but nothing special, the communal bath is great...you can use it on you own! They also own a small bar next door which the owners also run themselves. Anyway, look at the website [---------------] as the pics are true to life.
