This is a great little place for a short stay. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The location is great, we walked to all the main sights and the bus stop is on the corner so easy access to transport. The room is tiny so be prepared for that. Shared facilities were really clean and there was no waiting. Stairs are very steep! We enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

If you are looking for genuine Japanese hospitality and simple no frills accommodations, this is the place for you. You sleep on futons on grass mats and share bathrooms and showers. The rooms have flat screen tvs and climate controls. Your host is sweet and enjoys helping her guests. She is ready to explain how to get around Hiroshima and will greet you at the door with a smile. You are a short walk or easy train ride to all the must see sights. We had a lovely stay!

The staff were very welcoming here. The room was a basic ryokan style- mat on floor and futon. Perhaps a bit uncomfortable for more than one night- we stayed two. The bathroom is shared and the shower is down stairs, but you are given house cloths to wear. The location is close to the memorial park and 2 minutes walk from a metro line for exploring the town. Would recommend it as it is as I expected but wouldn't stay again due to comfort not being what we wanted.

Like someone else said- very close to the electric car stop. Walk towards the dive shop with the river on your right and you'll see it. Owner very friendly. She sat me down and showed me on a map where everything major is. The stairs are very steep and narrow, so be careful. I did have breakfast one morning. Delicious japanese breakfast! You sleep on a futon. Free wifi. The shower room takes a little getting used to. I loved the location and highly recommend paying ¥2000 for a 2 day pass on the electric rail if you're headed down to myajima island.

This is my second visit to that minshuku and I will return for sure as the lady in charge is so sweet and even though she does not speak fluent English, she always made me feel at home.
In her reception area, there are plenty maps and suggestions of tours of the area.
The room is clean and the shared bathroom is spotless.
Her place is small but clean and centrally located, walking distance from the Tramway which run all over Hiroshima city.
I wanted to try a sento in the vicinities (Japanese public bath) and she indicated one located about 8 minutes walk away, named "Dobashi Sento". I tried it and it turned out to be great ! Sadly sentos tend to disappear in Japan nowadays but visiting one after a tiring day of sightseeing is very relaxing.

Stayed in this small family-run ryokan for one night near Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park (10min walk) with some friends and family members.

The owner is very helpful and was very accommodating of our requests despite our brief stay and opting out of breakfast. For example, she let us leave our bags there for the day after we'd checked out to collect later on before our evening afternoon train.

The place is fairly basic, but very clean and all you need really including free wi-fi. And the price is very good - I have travelled extensively in Japan and this is about the cheapest place I have ever stayed in and that includes hostels.

Word of warning - although there is a handrail the stairs to the rooms are very steep so if you are infirm then you might be better off staying somewhere else.

I stayed three nights in Sansui. Rooms are small and basic, but this was perfect for me. The ryokans location is very good, very near are many good bars and restaurants, and only 10 min walk to A-bomb Dome area.

Owner is very helpfully and speak english.
