I had a conference in Hiroshima, so we stayed 6 nights at Grand Intelligent and it was simply wonderful!!

First, the hotel was very accesible from the JR Hiroshima Station, it's less than 10min walk across the bridge. Being in close proximity to the JR station means, it's really convenient should you want to travel to nearby cities. For e.g from Hiroshima, we travelled to Himeiji and Osaka with ease :) Moreover, you could get to other parts of Hiroshima e.g Atomic Bomb Dome, Hatchu-bori etc, really easily too as the bus and tram station are all within 5mins walk from the hotel.

Second, the hotel staff spoke English (language IS an issue in Hiroshima) and were able to comprehend us pretty well. They were polite and even when we wanted to extend another night, it was without much hassle.

Third, the room that we were given (Room 627) was pretty spacious based on Japanese standards. It was at the corner of the 6th level and the laundry, ice, vending machine (the machines stock Haagen Daaz ice cream) facilites etc. was just 5 steps away from our room! Hence it was really easy to satisfy my ice-cream craving at nite :) The rooms were made everyday by pleasant service staff, and everything was really clean. The toilet was small as expected, but we are not complaining. There was free LAN Internet access. We didnt bring our LAN cable for our notebook but there was no issue with loaning it for free from the reception throughout our stay.

Fourth, the decor was just simply resplendent for the price that we paid. Just look at the pics! Hence, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hiroshima!!
