If you are after simple, clean accomodation with no fancy extras, then this is the place. It was very well run, but the standard rooms are tiny. Ask for one of their larger rooms. The free breakfast was suprisingly good. Great location

Other than the longer than expected tram ride from the tram station (over 20 min when busy) this was a good choice. situated just before a 7/11 and near the tram line and peace park.
Our teenage daughters spent over 4 hrs one afternoon shopping at the Hondori Mall only 2 tram stops north from the Hotel.
Westeren breakfast is usually very basic in Japan so we we're happy to see cornflakes, cocopops, pastry and fruit. It was also nice to be able to try the Japanese breakfast as you can help yourself.
Some of the rooms look small so if you want a bigger room book a twin room. We had rooms 01, 20 and 21 which appear to be the biggest on each floor. Though don't expect much re the bathroom.
We enjoyed eating at the restruants in the Parcella building behind SOGO building.

We had booked accomodation at "Sleep Inn" and upon arriving at Hiroshima Station, were told that it was 30 minutes out of town (turns out my map reading left something to be desired). With only one night in Hiroshima and about 2 hours of light to go, we cancelled that reservation and the booked into Comfort Hotel Hiroshima Otemachi. It was a good decision.

The hotel is centrally located, about 5 minutes walk to the Peace Park and Museum. It's also about 10 minutes walk to the major bus station where we caught our bus to the airport the following day.

The rooms were very small - smallest of anywhere we stayed in Japan, but they were nice and new and we got a full-sized double bed with a lovely donna/duvet. The pillows are horrible (some sort of special "hard on one side, soft on the other" type of thing) and are the same in all Comfort Inn's in Japan.

The hotel had a free computer with printer and internet access in the lobby and free wireless access in the rooms. A breakfast buffet with both japanese and western foods was included.

There are two Comfort Inn's in Hiroshima. Both are on the same street and the other hotel is slightly closer to the Peace Park. Comfort Hotel Hiroshima Otemachi is much newer and, it seemed, a little nicer. Both have almost identical facilities.

Now in Hiroshima there are two Comfort Inns. The good news is that they are only a few minutes walk from each other if you end up at the wrong one.

The Hiroshima Otemachi is a great example of a value business hotel. Booking a few months in advance via the website was easy and there were no problems with my booking. Even better - payment is on arrival and cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance.

This particular Comfort Inn is very new thus all furnishings and facilities are spick and span. Free wireless broadband internet here and also a free breakfast to fuel up in the morning. Nothing spectacular but enough to tie you over for a few hours.

Location is good. just a few minutes from the Peace Museum and very close to a nearby tram stop.

Overall - a good choice for Hiroshima.
