This hotel is a reasonable option for tourists to Hiroshima. It is very conveniently located for the Memorial Peace Park, A-Bomb Dome and Museum. It's also a short walk to get the tram to Miyajima (if you choose not to take the train).

The hotel lacks soul - particularly the foyer. The rooms are adequate - nothing special. They could probably do with a bit of up-dating but are perfectly liveable. Our room had an excellent view of the A-Bomb dome. Make sure you ask for one that does.

The breakfast included a western option.

The Sunroute is much more than just a business hotel - the 2005 review is out of date. There is now free broadband access in each room. Rooms are spacious and have luxurious bathrooms, complete with full Toto washlets. The top floor dining area offers fabulous views and good breakfasts, whether you like to eat western or Japanese-style.
The odd mark on the carpet is unavoidable in a busy hotel, and that aside, the rooms are made spotless every day.
As with all hotels, do ask for a room with a view.

Hotel is spotless, we had a large room on a corner overlooking the Peace Park , Museum & A-Bomb dome. There were a few small stains on the bedspreads and a minor hole in a pillow case (nothing that worries me but I know some people like to make a big deal out of minor things). Just a 10-15 minute tram ride from the JR station then a 2-4 minute walk.

Has a Japanese and an Italian restaurant. We tried the Italian and it was excellent, we tried going back the second night but it was full.

Had a hard time trying to locate this hotel in the cold and snowy December night. The Hiroden (eletric tram) stopped some distance from the hotel. Just next to the Peace Memorial Park, convenient if you are visiting that. Hotel staff are just the normal Japanese average. Room is slightly bigger than normal. Free internet works well. Average pricing. Not much of activity around the hotel venue.
