“Roomy hotel with wifi and next to peace park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

If your visiting for the peace park, you can't get much closer. Roomy hotel and the only one yet to have an adaptor to turn a standard Internet connection into a wifi enabled one that we've stayed in in Japan.

A fine hotel in probably the best location in town for access to the Peace Park.
A large imposing welcoming entrance foyer, although not the most modern.A little bit dated in style it was however clean and comfortable.
The reception staff speak as little english as I speak Japanese so a certain level of patience is useful.
Our 9th floor room was not huge, but a standard layout that was fine and whilst modest, it was functional and clean. No inside or outside noise problems throughout our 2 night stay.

Totally in its favour was that it offered a fabulous view over the river and Peace Park.

The price was good with super breakfasts on an upper floor with great view of the peace park again!

A short walk to Peace Park and A Dome , plus the Ferry point for a trip to Miajima Island
(definately worth having an extra night in the hotel in order to give you a full day out on the Island)

I will go there again and also recommend it to friends!

Room Tip: Ask for Higher Rooms on the Park Side

The hotel is indeed outdated and definitely needs a make over. The rooms are small and the staff does not understand english. Having a conversation is not possible. Never the less it was a perfectly fine hotel! The price is ok and the breakfast room is on the 15th floor with a wonderful view of the peace park! I would definitely go there again and also recommend it to friends!

You don't need a fancy hotel. You just need a comfortable place to rest, since you're mostly out exploring the place. This one has a perfect location since its very near the Hiroshima Park. Its a big comfort that the hotel is right in front of you after a long walk in the park. Its value for money plus they have free WiFi.

Great location - 1 minute from the peace park & tram stop, 10 minutes from entertainment district. Rooms and restaurant overlooking the park and A-bomb dome.
The room size is good, for Japanese standard. The hotel is clearly outdated, and cries for renovation - but for now, it is an excellent deal ( we paid ~230$ for 3 nights for a couple, excluding breakfast - which cost an additional ~1100 yen pet person and contains a lot of different options).

The hotel is visible from the tram stop and right alongside the river accross the street from the Peace Memorial Park. It also had a wonderful and inexpensive noodle shop (not the typical ramen soup but dry noodles in spicy sauce) in the alley way behind the hotel that was so delicious. (It is the first restaurant you'll see with flags outside the entrance) The lobby has free wifi however our hotel room was drab and smelled a hint of smoke even though we asked for non-smoking. They could not change rooms for us since it was full. We only stayed there one night so it was fine... I thought the bed was comfortable and bathroom fairly good size but that's about it. I loved this city and could have easliy stayed another night (different hotel) and thought it was a comfortable place without so much crowds yet plenty to see, and great eating experiences. We went to Miyajima for one full day which is a must do and spent our remaining time visiting the Peace Museum and adjacent park.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the park

There's been a lot of old tosh written in reviews of this hotel. Frankly, you need to accept that you get what you pay for. If you want sparkly glamour then this is not for you, however. If you want a clean and comfortable place to stay, that is extremely easy to commute to using public transport and is only a short walk from the most important tourist sights, then this is the place for you. Yes the rooms are dated but they are clean, reasonably sized and comfortable. What more do you need as you are only in them for two waking hours per day-any more than that and you are missing out on what this truly wonderful city has to offer.
From main train station leave via south exit and take team number 1 to Chuden-Mae stop (15 mins) at ¥150, pay as you get off. Hotel is a two minute walk.
Eating out, noodles, head down the side road of the hotel for less than a minute to Mazemen, don't be afraid, go in. They speak fair English and the noodle dishes are simple, very tasty and quite cheap.
Also for food you must try the Okonomiyaki-mura village Okonomiyaki fast food outlets-awesome and cheap.
Allow a whole day just for the peace museum/park.
Grab a Miyajima two day pass off the tram guard for ¥2000 which gives unlimited travel on trams, ferry to Miyajima and cable car on Miyajima. Allow a full day on Miyajima to visit all the temples and the sunset.
This hotel is in a great location in a truely wonderful city. Grab breakfast too, the view is stunning and it's only ¥200 more than Starbucks but all you can eat.
