I always like to take a look at any modern art museum when I go to a new city. This one was not bad, but not sure it was worth the trouble getting there. If you are going to take the street car it is a bit of a bother. You end up taking about a 15 min walk up a very nice winding road to find the museum. Once there, I found the grounds very pretty and again a nice place to walk around.
The museum itself was good, but not great. Very little in the way of English signs if you do not read Japanese. The people that worked there were very nice and did give out a English language handout that talked about the art work.
Also on the grounds are a open air exhibition area that was nice. The Hiroshima Manga Library is on the grounds as well, but sadly it was closed on the day I was there.
I spent about one hour looking around the museum and another hour or so enjoying the grounds. It was worth it for me, but others may not want to spend the time.
