“Interesting Museum inside.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

The outside construction is quite beautiful. The interior of the castle is a museum which houses historical artifacts. All the exhibit information is in Japanese so be sure to pick up and English pamphlet at the entrance.
There is no toilet inside the castle so suggest you use the restrooms in the park prior to entry into the main building.

“Take your photo and move on...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Possibly the most disappointing castle I've visited in Japan. It is pretty enough from the outside but it was rather dull inside - the only highlight was the samurai costumes that you can try on for free. The surround grounds are quite unkept and the public toilets were awful (by Japanese standards). It is free to walk around the grounds but 300yen to go into the Keep.
If you want a good picture of the castle - walk towards the river and you'll be treated to a pretty view across the moat.

“very crappy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

most of the stuff inside is japanese, as a tourist who is english speaking this makes it hard to understand. I went in for the samurai history as it says on the hiroshima city sightseeing map. however most of the samurai info was in japanese and the view from the top was pretty poor as well. Definitely not worth the 4 dollars.

“wanting to become a sword woman =)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

the outer feature of the castle seems to still be the same old feature. on the inside, it is a museum where you can see different artifacts and parts of the castle. i think what captured my attention was the collection of different swords (katana) which were used during the samurai era. the blades are still sharp and well-maintained. there are some swords which you can see some glitches in the blades which made me wonder how many people were killed by those words and if there are still some hidden japanese village who are using those kinds of swords... =) anyways, just glad i was able to see those! also, they have a part there where you can experience wearing a kimono and a samurai cloth.

Worth to see. It is also kind of museum with number of exhibits. View from top is just amazing on a clear day.
