First the bad news. If you stay at this hotel, it will cost you about $20 to get to Hiroshima by taxi. It will cost you another $20 to get back to the hotel.
However, if you're, as we were, Americans visiting overnight to see the Peace Museum and various memorials, the Hiroshima Prince can be a good choice. First of all, in a town that speaks considerably less English than Tokyo, this hotel seems most willing and able to deal with tourists. Secondly, it's a truly stunning hotel--very modern and sleek. The rooms are small but feel very luxurious and offer fabulous views.
When you check in, you will be offered a 3500-yen for two people "club floor" upgrade of some kind. This includes (the English is bad, so it's unclear) drink coupons, a room with a better view, and a continental breakfast. Take the offer even if you don't drink. "Continental" breakfast here is a full western and Japanese breakfast buffet and it's fabulous.
