This was a modern and beautiful hotel. The hotel sits right on the bay with gorgeous views of the hills, mountains, and countless islands that surround Hiroshima. The service was impeccable and for Japanese standards, our hotel room was HUGE! The hotel also has a wonderful spa with a natural spring and all the common services.
If you can, please eat at the buffet breakfast. The food is good, but the views from the top floor is breathtaking. One can eat both western and Japanese style food while looking out towards the bay and the beautiful mountainous islands. The bar/lounge also provides a great view on the other side of the building. There one can see the lights of Hiroshima at night. Very romantic.
Because of its location, this hotel seems to be very popular for weddings which was a wonderful experience for Western tourists since many wedding parties still dress in traditional clothes.
There is a small eatery in the strip mall right outside the hotel that offers a great egg/noodle/scallion/ specialty of Hiroshima. It is cheap and completely satisfying. There is also an interesting arcade and bowling alley in this strip mall.
However the hotel has one major negative; it is far. Though there is a bus stop right outside, it takes roughly 30 minutes to get to the main tourist areas of Hiroshima or the train station. Because of its location, a taxi costs roughly $20, one way, to the train station.
