It is a bit of a journey from the Train station on the 21 bus, and every venture into the city involves catching it. That is the one negative of the place.

All the rest is good. The hotel is beside the water overlooking green islands and the ports. Our 4 bed room was at one corner of the triangular shaped building and gave us a jaw dropping beautiful view of it all. Definitely one of the prettier sights of our trip. The boat to Miyajima is well worth the extra cost compared to the standard ferry.

The hotel is also beside a nice big of green forest with walking paths around the shoreline. Made for a relaxing evenings walk. It was the most calming and relaxing stop on our trip.

The room itself was everything you could need. Nice big bath and quality shower. Comfy beds. Plenty of room. Can't complain at all. Internet involved taking my laptop down to the second floor and plugging it in there. Wireless would be nicer.

And then there's the main foyer with it's water and spiraling walkway. Gives you an initial wow.

As for the restaurants, bowling, video game parlour... we didn't use them, so I can't comment.

“Beautiful view, peripheral but easily reached by bus”

I stayed here with my parents: the room (room for family) was very spacious and had a huge bathroom.
The staff was gentle and the cleaning efficient.
From the windows we could see the sea and the motoujina-park forest. The hotel was a little distant from the center, but with the bus 21-2 we could reach JR Hiroshima Station (30 minutes) or the port, were we could access to the streetcar service.
Only at night we were obliged to use a taxi.

My experience was the opposite of Jim Malloy's. We booked through Expedia and said we needed a room for 3 adults and a 16-year old. When we showed up, the guy said we had a room for three people total. This wouldn't do for us and I told the guy as much. He immediately went to his supervisor and upgraded us with no additional charge. Our room was stunning with a great view of downtown and the surrounding mountains. The down size is you will probably need a cab unless you feel like messing with the city bus. If traffic is heavy, as it was when we arrived, it can take a while and cost you a couple thousand yen. You also won't have a huge number of restaurants nearby. But if you are staying just for one or two nights, or if you stay out late visiting Miyajima (which you really should), that isn't a big problem.

I arrived at nighttime and it took me a while to find the hotel. Actually it is bit far from downtown. However, this hotel located in front of the Inland Sea and had great views.

The building is really nice. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean too.

Overall I thought the place was very nice and unique!

First the bad news. If you stay at this hotel, it will cost you about $20 to get to Hiroshima by taxi. It will cost you another $20 to get back to the hotel.

However, if you're, as we were, Americans visiting overnight to see the Peace Museum and various memorials, the Hiroshima Prince can be a good choice. First of all, in a town that speaks considerably less English than Tokyo, this hotel seems most willing and able to deal with tourists. Secondly, it's a truly stunning hotel--very modern and sleek. The rooms are small but feel very luxurious and offer fabulous views.

When you check in, you will be offered a 3500-yen for two people "club floor" upgrade of some kind. This includes (the English is bad, so it's unclear) drink coupons, a room with a better view, and a continental breakfast. Take the offer even if you don't drink. "Continental" breakfast here is a full western and Japanese breakfast buffet and it's fabulous.
